Footsteps on icey snow. Low background noise, some buffeting wind. Was a cold winter's walk and my footsteps sounded lovely so i thought i'd record them!.
Q3hd placed on my windowsill just as the rain was starting to get heavier. The location is in the city and aircraft can be heard along with vehicle noises. .

Recording of midday traffic close to a busy downtown intersection in a major city. Sounds of various vehicles going by and car horns bleeping loudly. Recorded with a zoom h1.
Ambient space noise, made from a recording of me blowing across the top of a glass bottle into a microphone. Could be used for a space station or something.
These cats were going nuts in the alley outside my window. The echoy, warberly sound comes from running a noise reduction function, as there was a lot of hiss in the unprocesses file.

Real resting heartbeat, self-recorded by my friend andy jack. Only effects used on this is eq to remove noise. Public domain, but if you wanna give credit then credit "andy jack".
Seamless loop of gaspipe or gasleak hissing continuously. This sound is the actual background noise in the frequency range 1200 to 6800 hz from my randomly generated subhorrorambience1. Wav sample. All frequencies below 1 khz (lowend) and above 8 khz (highend) have been filtered out and the volume has been normalized. I release this sound as cc0. You can do whatever you want with it and don't need to mention my name. Tips & tricks for professional mastering of dark ambient loops:. ~ (range) 1200 - 8000 hz, the highmid area of all sounds. ~ (gate) filtering in and adding subtle noise in this frequency range can addatmosphere or "air" to dark ambience but sound noisy like a tape recording. ~ (filter) filtering out noise in this frequency range can make the bass andlower frequencies (20-1000 hz) in dark ambience sound clearer but more dull. ~ (highend) frequencies above 8 khz should always be filtered out completelyand muted to 0 db, since those are only necessary in music and higher sounds.
This is the sound of wind as generated by my naturalnoisegen program. Naturalnoisegen uses several timed generators to produce complex natural noises. In this case, 80 low-frequency generators were used.
Experimental qm synthesis resulting sound. Details for the synthesis method can be found at http://www. Synthofmine. Com/general-thoughts/qm-synthesis/.
A korg ms-20 using the white noise generator into the esp to generate random triggers. Hooked up to a boss rph-10 phaser and then to emu patchmix dsp stereo reverb.
Native instruments battery3 was triggered by explosion of fireworks. I recorded fireworks and change it into midi notes with logic 7. Smaller signals are played by edirol sd-80 triggered by ambient noises around me.
Testing csound's phase vocoder toolset on some field recordings. Part of a longer, less interesting program output. Overzealous use of convolution and time compression/expansion. .
A very harsh section of static with periodic interference (source unknown) from the far right-hand side of the fm radio dial, at 106. 7 mhz. Recorded from a digital tuner.
Quiet bubbling and groaning on an empty stomach. Recorded with a google pixel xl, as its bottom-facing (mono) microphone is perfect for this. No noise reduction.
