I modified each sound using filters and joined them together to make longer looping example. Good to use in a game or 3d video animation as background ambient noise. Audacity and hexplorer are freeware and you can make similar job with them. . .

I took an rca to 1/8 inch cable and plugged it into my sound card input. The sound is created by sticking the two rca plug ends to a 9 volt battery's + and - terminals. . . I don't know if the noise comes from the battery or the computer, though.

I recorded mostly nothing, then normalized it, so it was mostly loud static. I used audacity's noise remover to make the sound and it's wahwah effect to make it move across stereo space. Very interesting, good for static and alien voices.
