Recording of a middle school band short performance. Starts with piano for the intro, then goes into a group of out of tune stringed instruments sounding a lot like "twinkle twinkle little star" followed by polite audience applause, and ending with an audience member's cough.

Originally written for the piano, the Gymnopedies are extremely well-suited to the natural idiomatic expression of the guitar. This is a sawtooth waveform suitable for easily tuning guitar by ear, comprised of 20 seconds each of e-a-d-g-b-e in sequence. Adjust guitar volume to same volume as the tone, ideally through the same audio output. Tune the string close to the tone, then listen for the subtle beat-frequency indicating not-quite-perfect tune. When the beat frequency goes away, your guitar string is in perfect tune. Also useful for adjustable bridges. The open string and its 12th fret octave will both produce no beat-frequency when the bridge is adjusted properly.

Snippets from recordings of me playing the tanpura. Tuned to c sharp, the notes from top to bottom are g sharp, a sharp, c sharp, low c sharp. In traditional indian tuning the c sharp is the root note (first note in the scale) and referred to as sa. The fifth note (g sharp in this scale) is referred to as pa and the sixth note (a sharp) is dha. The pack contains recordings of the more traditional pa-sa-sa-sa type rythmns, as well as some experimenting with short bass lines, riffs and slap bass drones!. Before you say "a tanpura should not be played in such a way" please be comforted by the fact that this is not a traditional tanpura (and will never sound or be able to be played exactly like a traditional tanpura) it is part of the swar sangam, which combines the four drone strings of the tanpura with 15 harp strings. I am only playing the tanpura part in these recordings.

Diboz throws a piano at his annoyingly ticking watch, which is ruining his sense of timing. Created in flstudio 11 with lightly tweaked flkeys, flreverb2, jangly (almost tubular bells) wasp xt layers and a pitch bent formant for a bit of spookiness. The ticking noise and deep notes were generated by fiddling with morphine's presets. Caution: look at the waveform. Don't turn up the wick. This piece starts quietly but there's a sudden, loud, jump scare.

This is a very old, out of tune accordian (the tuning wavers way off key on the main notes as it plays). I made this using two oscillators in native instrument's fm8 synth. There is nothing too fancy, just two sine waves played out the same output, but one has an offset of 440hz, and the second oscillator has an offset of 330hz. I then just played two notes that didn't sound too dissonant, and then ran it through some low-fi processing.

It's my voice and i sing do, re, mi, fa, sol for my game. You can change the file as mix, like nightcore version, child version, chorus version, funny man version, etc. In my christmas game, i need voice for my 5 little angels sing for hints( that's the reason why i only sing 5 music notes), just edit the file from each part!. And i record it only use microsoft audio recorder application( default application).

I only use a triple osc and i took an advantage of the several asio bugs of my soundcard. I don't mix the sound. I've re-recorded that shape 17 times, after that, i applied massive echo and reverb filters. 3 osc, echo, reverb, compressor. For this record, i've deleted the major part of the notes. Some new settings of the echo filter, are applied.

I don't have a modular system to speak of but after watching some of divkids videos i realised my xiao could sound really nice in an ambient eurorack setup. Anyway, here's a few improv sections on my flute, only been playing 4 weeks so pardon the few bum notes. Make of it what you will but would love to hear what people come up with. Concertina loops on the way after it's been serviced.

A marimba note being struck while thrown in to the air. Can't remember the mic that was used but it was a condensor mic. This was recorded in my room so unfortunately the signal to ambient noise ratio isn't great. The sound can be used for free (though it would be great to hear about what you do with it). It may not be re-distributed as it is, or as part of a compiled sound library.

The apollonia is a mechanized organ and music machine. It was built in 1926 and resides in the musical instrument museum (phoeniz, arizona). It takes up the space of an entire wall. Tech notes: this is a stereo recording made with a sony pcm-d50 (onboard mics, close xy pattern). I failed to notice that the low-cut filter was engaged on the recorder, so the full bass range of the instrument was not properly captured. You'll need to hear it for yourself in person!.
