This recording was made in the path of totality of the august 21st 2017 eclipse, in the woods surrounding devil's kitchen lake in southern illinois. It's a stereo extract from a longer, 88 minute b format recording. The purpose of making the recording was to see how the eclipse affected the sounds produced by insects and birds. In this extract, totality occurs exactly 10:00 minutes in; and ends at exactly 12:38. This mirrors the time totality occurred at devil's kitchen lake: from 1:20:27pm to 1:23:05pm central time. Mic: core sound tetramicrecorder: zoom f8. Panorama of the recording site: https://photos. App. Goo. Gl/t2m3esbcm71l4wzza. With thanks to jay needham for being a good host, and guidance on where rattlesnakes like to hang out. Please note that this is a 48k 24bit flac file - flac files can be easily read and converted by audacity [https://www. Audacityteam. Org/] and reaper [http://reaper. Fm/], among others.

Thousands of cicadas occur in endless cycles for roughly one minute, at least where i was in my backyard in san antonio, texas. At the beginning of the cycle, they truly sound like a jet with engines idling on a runway, growing louder as it maneuvers into a take-off position. After several more seconds, the soft whirring grows louder and louder for about ten seconds or so, and at the closing of the cycle crescendos into a a sustained cacophony like crickets on crack.

It's this sound:http://www. Freesound. Org/people/unfa/sounds/217455/. . . . Pitched down with audacity and truncated. I also made a fade-in and fade-out to ensure no clicks will occur. The preview doesn't sound right (artifacts, distortion), download it to hear the real thing. Also - it's very low frequecy, so use headphones or a woofer, or you might miss it :).

So when i launched audacity within gentoo linux, a strange ground loop occurred. However, adjusting the volume settings within alsamixer caused the ground loop to become different per volume settings. The higher the volume, the less noise is produced; the lower the volume, the more noise is produced. I hereby proclaim this into the public domain, no restrictions! have fun, y'all!.

Captured at the brand-new castletown branch of sainsbury's. Another of those mindless public safety announcements played at either end of a moving walkway. This time, members of the public are asked to be prepared to get their trolley off the walkway. In surveying the scene, it occurred to me that there was also no other choice! one could, i suppose, deliberately come to a screeching halt immediately after disembarking and my late mother-in-law would have been somebody who did just that! so, i suppose there's some point this after all!.

Gem pathescope 9. 5mm projector, unit #1191, made in england. Recorded on a marantz pmd661 with a rode nt4 stereo mike. The gem is a variable speed projector, controlled by a rheostat. Speed for this recording begins at about 12 fps. Microphone was facing the non-roller side of the projector, 30 cm away. Audio begins with power being turned on, ends with power being turned off. The end of the film leaves the gate at 4. 37 and becomes free of the last roller at 4. 40, when the motor speeds up. The speed and audio-level variations during recording occurred naturally.

A pair of owls stationed themselves outside my half-basement bedroom window in colorado early this morning around 12am. Unfortunately i only had my phone to capture them with, but it still turned out alright, save for the periodic vox-like breaks when silencing background noise. The hoot is obvious as to the source, but i'm unsure about the screech/cry that occurs with equal frequency. Is it the response of a mate? or just the yip of a curious neighbor dog?. Recorded with the stock application on my lg g3 phone and encoded to mp3 using the "video to mp3" app.

The morning after christmas 2022 on hood canal. There was a king tide that came up over the stone wall. A king tide occurs when the sun, moon, and earth are in alignment and the combined gravitational pull causes water levels to rise dramatically. I took this recording right next to the pilings where the dock is connected. You can hear the water hitting the metal and wood as it knocks it around. The water eventually washed over the road.

Rode nt4 -> maudio delta1010lt, capturing a lightning strike that made the walls of my house shake, and forced me to turn off my computer. The lightning occured ~167 meters away from the microphone, calculated from the time lapse between the initial dc spike and the start of audible strike. Clipped quite a bit, had the input slightly too high, but did not expect one to hit so close. A picture hanging on my wall shook violently when this one hit. This was captured at the end of session on 5_28_2006, same night as http://freesound. Iua. Upf. Edu/samplesviewsingle. Php?id=19283.

Recording of some new year's celebrations in vienna. Captured using a clippy stereo em172 microphone and a zoom h5 handheld recorder. I positioned the microphone capsules outside the window on the left and right and then gently (almost) closed it. I setup the recorder and rolled the whole evening. This bit was around the apex of the celebrations in that part of town. Sadly some clipping occured, but i chose to upload the unaltered file. So no post-processing has been applied. Cut in ocenaudio. Enjoy!. Want to support the creation of more cc0 sounds?https://flattr. Com/profile/cabled_mess.

A quick piece i made using various effects, to give the impression of a factory accident in which a fire/explosion occurs, and steam vents and opened etc. Attribution information:. I'm afraid i threw that together 7 years ago when i would have been 14 years old. I can't really remember whether i used any other sounds to make it, or if i generated it (and definitely can't remember who needs attributed if soundswere used). If you recognise any of your work in this - just give me a shout/report it; i've got no problem removing this, as i said; did it a long time ago and forgot i'd even made it. So just be aware there are risks in using this and you'd probably be better just making a new better one to replace this anyway. Thanks!.

Better set on monoaural on your daw if possible due to the off-center recording. Having been a bit ill on some rich iron content food i couldn't stomach (offal it was, it was the sheep fried liver who was the culprit - the very rich iron content upset my stomach pretty bad - was looking for something "new". ). Keep in mind that i am unable to do this as a request for obvious reasons including health, livelihood and risk of damage to equipment. I tried very hard to avoid shaking the zoom as not to make the wobbling sounds. If i am ill again, i'll use my ma-2 (microphone stick) and gravity microphone stand and get a real good recording of real vomiting but keep in mind this was recorded in my showerroom so some er may occur.

This is an example of a low-frequency sound often recorded through the hydrophone on the mars cabled observatory - an earthquake. Mars is located on smooth ridge (36. 7125n, 122. 1869w), west of monterey bay at approximately 900 m depth (http://www. Mbari. Org/at-sea/cabled-observatory/). This magnitude 3. 8 earthquake occurred on july 18, 2016 at 05:53:31 utc (usgs data). It was part of a small earthquake swarm along the san andreas fault, approximately 50 miles east of the hydrophone. All quakes in this swarm, with magnitudes as low as 1. 9, were detected by the hydrophone. We have recorded as many as 40 earthquakes within a single day. The original recording was normalized, and speed was increased 5x to make the low frequency sound more audible. Still, subwoofer or headphones are recommended.

An enjoyable trip back to my childhood. . . Way before cell phones and the internet. Summers were enjoyed walking on the gravel alleys looking at the beautiful, mature trees in my own little corner of the neighborhood. Does this return you to your childhood?. A nice capture of those beautiful chimney swifts twittering above -- a true signature of summer -- occurs at 38 seconds in, then again at 2:24. The typical hum of central air conditioning units is ever present throughout. From 2:11 to 2:27 i stop and you can hear the hum of these units getting louder. At 2:44 a dog barks in the distance. Then, at 4:16 i leave the gravel alley and start walking on the grass, the, at 5:06, up the big, concrete front steps. Recorded at 7:45pm on the evening of wednesday june 12th 2019. Equipment: mixpre-6 recorder, with sennheiser mkh 416. Enjoy.

This is the soundscape i've recorded in my neighboorhood of cidade tiradentes, a district from são paulo, brazil. We name these events as pancadão (big punch) or fluxo (flow). When a flow occurs, you know that the sound is very high and it invades all surroundings. It happened in april 4, 2021, during our worst period in the the global covid-19 pandemic. Plent of people, vehicles, multiple speakers and so on in a street. I'm writing in the exact moment police came to repress, but in my conclusion only education can solve city problems, not repression, not paliative atitudes. I think this is interesting to share it here, as a cultural manifestation, showing that when the state fails, everyone fails. This is disrespectful at all, but i try to look it as a construction of city. In a country where its president goes for a for a swim at a crowded beach amid 200 thousand pandemic deaths, how can i criticize suburban people?. I'm not conservative, i like the kind of music playing known as"brazilian funk" or "funk carioca", this is our culture, even if i do not participate actively. Plot twist: i was working in a asmr video. *-*. Recorded in mp3 320 kbps, using a zoom h1n and compressed in ableton live to bring on the dynamics.

Clean recording of various sounds that would occur when maneuvering around an office space (specifically a desk) and manipulating common office objects. Recording features lots of paper rustling and sliding across a wooden desk, handling pens and a stapler, stuffing manila folders and plastic binders, and towards the end there are some sounds of small-medium sized personal bag being unzipped and zipped and then being filled with some of the office materials. Should work great for filling in general office noises in a scene or reinforcing actions that involve any of the materials featured in the recording. There should be enough variety to allow you to glean more isolated sounds or just use assortments of layered sounds. Recorded with an akg p170 into a tascam 208i audio interface at 48khz/24-bit. Microphone was positioned roughly 1. 5 - 2 feet away from the source. There is some slight room reverb present, which is intentional, and should match common office workspaces well. An 85hz high-pass filter was applied to remove any unintentional, unnatural low-frequency rumbling that may have been picked up during recording.

This 6:17 minute cut from a 25:00 piv (penis in vagina) sex session that features loud doggystyle sexual intercourse between two young consenting adults. Recorded in september 2016 in a california dorm room: female is asian, 19 y. O. , male is white, 21 y. O. Both are rather slender, and have already had orgasms from oral sex. The slapping sound is made from the male's lower abdomen and testicles rhythmically striking the female's bum during rapid penetration -- the female is kneeling on the edge of a bed and the male is standing on the floor. There is no artificial birth control used -- the couple uses "natural family planning" meaning sex occurs only during infertile times of the female's ovulation cycle. Despite the loud sound of flesh slapping together, the couple is actually very slender -- the recording is natural with no effort to "act out" and there is a slight background music: classical. The parts edited out to make this 6:17 cut were aspects of piv sex that was too quiet to hear -- other sexual positions, i. E. , the female lying face-down with her stomach touching the bed, male atop, were at a much slower tempo so as to be nearly silent.

Mud volcano field, davis-schrimpf seep field, salton sea, california. Lat: 33. 20070326716746lon: 244. 42179501054162. The davis-schrimpf onshore seep field site in the salton sea geothermal system is the result of shallow magmatic intrusions in a sedimentary basin. The ssgs is situated in the salton trough in southern california, an area with abundant surface manifestations of hydrothermal activity. The hydrothermal system in the salton trough occurs in a pull-apart setting where rifting and associated magmatic intrusions are responsible for the strong heat flow. One of the most concentrated and well-expressed onshore seep fields is the davis-schrimpf field, where more than 50 individual seeps are located in this area. Gas venting from gryphons and pools is vigorous with a continuous bubbling activity. Water and mud mixtures are continuously expelled down the flanks of the gryphons. Carbon dioxide produced from de-volatilization reactions involving sedimentary carbonate is the main driver for the seep activity. The morphological features of the davis- schrimpf seep field are strikingly similar to seep fields on dormant mud volcanoes however, the davis-schrimpf seeps are not related to mud volcanism, as mud volcanism normally implies large-scale mud breccia eruptions and a low temperature seep stage. This is a reading from the second chapter of "nathaniel's nutmeg: or, the true and incredible adventures of the spice trader who changed the course of history", by giles milton. It is also intended for the freesound sound museum to represent books as what is fading rapidly into obsolescence. By the time you read this, you may not even know what a books is. Books are when the written word is compiled onto sheets of paper in a long-form volume. You may not know what paper is. Paper is commonly used to write on or make oregano cranes with, being flat and thin rectangles made from trees. You probably won't remember what a tree was. That is a very sad thing. They are all gone now, destroyed in feckless deference to paper. When the paper runs out, there will be nothing left to write our collective histories on, what we desperately need. When this occurs, it will stand as the moment our past was truly lost, leaving us lost the same, drifting in circles. Until another man or woman rises up to invent trees again, thus beginning the cycle anew. It's a beautiful idea. We should always be moving towards the future, not lost in syrupy memories of old forests not seen for what they really are: petrified wood and amber. Leave that with the other fossils and relics. Let it be the final page written on the last book until it crumbles to dust. Let it go. The file was recorded using a mid/side stereo technique at 24bits, downsampled to 16bits under the loving care of gaussian dither. The room was treated as best i could to be acoustically pleasing and quiet. I think you will find the noise floor to be particularly well balanced and textured, suitable for post-production tasks, or just for relaxing with at home. .
