These are 8 lobsters sold at louisbourg in a cool-box awaiting their demise, saturday, 16 june 2007. Some of them were making this noise; others were silent, or just tapping their palps against the box or the other lobsters periodically. Part of a longer recording; i think i edited out the occasional bang where a lobster hit the mic, but my apologies if i didn't get them all.

Recorded using a 1974 mgb sports car. Mic placed on passenger floorboard. Sound of start, idle, accelerating and going through gears, steady state (can be edited and looped for longer scenes) and coast down and shut off. Very throaty sound recorded in-cabin which would be period correct for british cars of that era and useful for in-car scenes behind dialog.

A retro "fire the projectile" sound in an old-school 8-bit video game. Sounds like it should be on an enemy instead of the main player since it's quite dark and hollow. Generated with a periodic 1-bit noise pattern.

Ever wandered through a spanish street market? the sound will be familiar to — very possibly all too familiar! this recording was made so close to the offending mechanical toy, that it has even picked up the noises of the mechanism itself. Sounds of annoyed crows and grackles can be heard periodically in the distance, and the ambient sound of water through the gutters and downspouts is also prevalent. Recorded with a tascam dr-60d and two behringer xm1800s dynamic mics. Post processed with amplification and mid eq boost in audacity.

This is a recording of children playing in the large playground at the luxembourg gardens in paris, france. The recording was made from the east side of the playground, next to an attraction that allows kids to hang from a sort of harness and slide down a rail. The metallic clink you hear periodically is the sound of the runners on this gadget banging into each other as kids jump off of them. This is a great clear and loud recording of a cat purring for an extended period of time with no obtrusive noises in background. Rip pozzo, whom the purr belongs to. He was a very affectionate cat and purred if you so much as stared at him. Happened to catch this sound one night while alone at home with the cat. He was on my lap and my sound equipment happened to be right next to me.

Soundscape of an enfolding air raid on a doomed city, period around world war ii, from some distance from the city itself. In the onset, the listener stands on a windy heath, and hears the air-raid sirens in the distance. Then come the bombers (propeller planes!), supposedly lancasters or so, passing overhead toward their target. . . This sound is recorded directly from one of my original 1938 98cc light motorbikes. This time is a express (manufaturer) sl 102 (type). The noise you hear is all specific. It is the fuel cock on selection, the flooding of the carburettor, suction of the engine, two tries to bring the engine to live with clutch action inbetween. Running on idle and two short openings of the throttle. Engine is shut off by using the decompression lever which is typical for this period of time and two stroke engines. .
