This sound is entirely made with audacity, i played with the noised and reverberation on several tracks, then i shifted the tracks to create a come and go effect. I also reduced the volume on some parts of the tracks. This sound remind me of a windy weather near the ocean.

This is a recording made in my living room of a mitzvah tank, the giant vans the lubavichers drive around brooklyn. They play jewish religious music out of speakers on these vans. Its a sound i always enjoyed, especially during the high holidays when there is a giant parade of them on flatbush.

Breathing sound effect i created for a recent production of carries war. Three high quality foley sounds of a low pitched echoing drum for suspense. For those who have played the game slender man, they just might ring a bell. These were made by using a sample of a drum and adding heavy low pass and adobe soundbooth's echo and dream sequence effect.

High e played on an acoustic gibson jumbonormalized to -3db with audacity. The guitar was recorded with a single microphone (a brauner phantera) connected to an api pre-amp. The signal was fed into a digidesign a/d converter and recorded in protools 9 in waveform audio file format. All the samples were subsequently edited with the gpl software audacity. A short clip of of a screaming electric guitar lick i made on my 1982 gibson les paul custom with marshall amp. It was recorded on a multi track music program, i then added chorus effect, the microphone was hooked directly to the desktop computer with reverb from a 50 watt marshall amp. This lick was played by me on my guitar.

A small, mechanical music box plays, slows down and stops. Synthesized sound with stereo light reverb effect. Duration 0'52". Three turns of a wooden boxed clockwork mechanical key followed by a bright, nonsensical music box tune. As the tune plays, the tempo slows down - gradually at first but becoming profoundly slower towards the end. Tune ends on a melancholic note mid phrase. Could be used as a standalone effect, or perhaps metaphorically as a cipher for the aging process and cessation of life. The clockwork key effect is a rapidly repeating single mechanical clock tick filtered to sound box-like. The sound of the music box tines was created with ni fm8 using four sinewave oscillators, one of which feeds back on itself to produce a hint of metallic ringing.

I made this sound in september 2003 - i used a fairlight mfx 3 - a direct descendant of the first sampler ever made - and the best ever to this day editing software for ground breaking features and functions. Clip based eq and level which you could cross fade between made the use of automation almost redundant in precise to picture editing. It also had a unique alternative jog function. You could loop 1 frame or so as you chose of sound at the orginal pitch which made it easy to find transient points. I then 'grind' the play head over a solo'd sound and play this into a reverb unit. I have many of these accidental experiments and one day i shall make the fairlight pack!. Until then enjoy this alien - from mars with love :). If you open a sample in the sample editor - you can recreate the fairlight jpg by grabbing the playback head in play. You may then route sound flower thru an input channel and get some unusual effects that are difficult to achieve. . If you can improve on this method let me know!.

Fiddling with a disposable plastic comb, mainly by plucking and stroking the edge and side of its teeth with my fingers. I also play around with the comb in my mouth a bit, using the resonance of my vocal cavity to modify the sound, and also running the teeth of the comb over my own teeth.

Synth bagpipes with snare only. I made this for the backing track, at very low volume, for a video sound track. It's good enough for something like that. I don't know anything about pipes so don't freak out if play them. It's g at 100bpm in 6/8.
