The friday call to prayer in the old city of jerusalem recorded from the mount of olives. I only had a cheap digital audio recorder with me and processed the file using audition noise reduction tools. For uploading the file was compressed using quicktime. It's attenuated but i kind of like it.
I recorded this sound on my sony handycam outside a nearby church in salzwedel, germany. This is my first upload on this site. Any comment or suggestion is welcome!.
This was recorded inside the blue mosque in istanbul during friday prayer in may 2005. To get in to the blue mosque with recording equipment we had to get a permission from the religious authorities. We also needed a muslim to operate the equipment since the friday prayers were forbidden for non-muslims. We set up the recording equipment and let our turkish guide hit the record button once the prayer started. The sound is recorded using an m/s rig straight to dat and processed afterwards with a hp filter in protools to remove microphone rumble. Recorded by asbjørn blokkum flø, kjetil bjørgan and the anonymous guide.
The sound of someone playing "maiden's prayer" on the piano. Recorded via a line out on an electric keyboard. Used in a production of three sisters. Edit: i see a lot of people are enjoying this sound! if you'd like to donate a dollar or two towards my personal starving artist fund here is a donation link: https://www. Paypal. Me/baharv89.
This sound was recorded outside the blue mosque in istanbul during friday prayer at the same time as the other recording from the blue mosque in may 2005. Recorded by asbjørn blokkum flø and kjetil bjørgan.

Another "holy" ambient sound, made by layering a synthesized voice speaking/singing part of the lord's player several times to create a ringing drone with a sustained chord in the background. Made in fl studio.
