I changed the synthesizer's ranges and played a bit with reaktor's structures until i realized i was playing with the frequency range. The result is a radically different sound that sounds more like a machine.

The range of a Jew's harp as string harmonics:“By using the cavity of the mouth as a resonator, each harmonic in succession can be isolated and reinforced, giving the instrument the compass shown. The lower harmonics of the series cannot be obtained, owing to the limited capacity of the resonating cavity. The black notes on the stave show the scale which may be produced by using two harps, one tuned a fourth above the other.” This file plays harmonics 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

This acid loop was created in cubase 10 years ago at 112 bpm with a free vsti called rubber duck. I've added lfo filters to move the sound across the eq ranges, together with reverb and an 80s ballad amplitube effect. Compressed to equalize the output.

A seven note scale (c c# d# f f# g# a#) over separate octaves. Some notes repeat in the same octave, but are slightly different samples. Each note starts on the grid of 100bpm. Recorded the samples a few years ago. From memory the original sounds are sections of acoustic guitar notes, manipulated, pitched and fx added.

File contains a second collection of 4 or 5 creepy, clichéd "hypno-tones" in the theremin's lowest ranges, each separated with 5 seconds of silence. Each hypnotone in the file uses a different waveform/tonal setting to give you various textural choices. As always, these sounds are recorded "dry" so that you can tweak and tweeze, add effects, overdub and mangle them any way you like.

It's me saying some words. I've recorded my speech and then used ardour's (http://ardour. Org) looping funtionality (which have proven to be rock-solid) to perform theese glitches. I used my mouse to select random ranges in the session, then used the "]" key to set tre selected region as a loop range. And also used "l" key to start looping if i accidentaly clicked on the playhead (which makes it stop playing). I also used space bar to break the loop into normal playback. There was a limiter in ardour. Recorded the performace using jack_capture cli program. I cut out some silence using audacity and converted the recording to flac.

Just tapping things around my desk with a screwdriver and jingling the loose change inside a glass jar. I had the mind to use all of the sounds in this file for a kick/snare/hi hat drum rack in ableton live - hence the ranges of frequency from low (jar thumps) to textured highs (loose change) and high (taps. ) i hope these come in handy, please enjoy! - vanszi. Not just any thunder this! this is the spanish variety and anyone who has been around a spanish thunderstorm will know what i mean. This field recording was made from my villa and this is both rural and situated between two mountain ranges. So, you've got the thunder, the acoustics, the sound of the rain and the birds in the nearby trees. If you listen closely enough then you might hear the sound of the breeze through the palm trees. Recorded with twin directional mike pointing away from each other. . . For just about the best stereo separation you're going to get!.

Ambient echo sound. This sound required the combination of operator using the triangle wave and plenty of reverb. I layered this sound by using two different octaves to cover most frequency ranges that sounded best and to fill any gaps in the sound effect. This sound is inspired by scene transitions and wide shots where there may be a lack of other sounds so this frees up a space for a calm ambient sound that uses plenty of sustain and reverb. The triangle wave in the operator gave it more of a high pitched calm flowing sound. The other options for example sine wave sounds to harsh and sharp for this type of sound.
