This is the recording of an audible pedestrians traffic light in paris, france. These devices are here to help visually impaired people cross the streets in a safe way. They come under the form of a little beige box with a hidden button underneath. You have to push the button to hear the annoucement. You can find them all over the city. The sequence goes as follows: first, an annoucement in french says "red light for pedestrians", followed by the street name, then a jingle goes on, followed by a series of bell-like sounds, signaling a green light. I maed this recording because i needed that particular sound for a show i was working on and couldn't find it on freesound. Recorded with a zoom h2n in stereo m/s mode (set to mono).

Autumn forest wind. Heavy, fast gusty in tall pine trees. Some birds and raindrops. Soundscapes of natural white noise of moderate intensity. Some are stagnant or static and with few birds. The presents of the colourful red and yellow dry leaves that is still on the trees, creates the noise of the wind with rustling whispers. Is a constantly form of natural white noise that is always changing and evolving. These recordings is from my third attempt. I think it is very difficult to record the “spirit” and unique sound of the wind. This is pure natural wind sounds (no layering, no post-processing, no synthesizers). These are two guitar solo outtakes from a guest guitar session i was asked to be on. They essentially wanted that early era slayer vibe where there is more cacophonous noise than structure. I think i recorded 15-20 for two sections in one song. They chose two other files and this was the one i liked best to keep as a memento. I am the creator and owner of the audio contained within the file. I know guitarists these days want to sound like an andy sneap plugin, but this may give someone a different idea. Within the context of the song they were for they fit well. I'm not apologizing for the playing or quality of the recording. Just something i did for a friend that took me 4x as long to set up than total time under the red light. It was fun.

Midnight recording from the streets of neukölln, berlin, on new years day 2009. In germany, this is the one day of the year when members of the general public are allowed to set off fireworks. Echoes of bombs and fusillades ring out across the city, while clouds of smoke tumble menacingly through the streets. Close by, a peaceful child sets off sparklers, and is astonished by the display. In the morning, the streets are littered with their remnants -- charred bits of paper, streaks of red ash. Recorded with an edirol r-09. From a contemporaneous news report:. "clashes in three german cities marred new year celebrations, with police facing their toughest challenge from a crowd of mostly young revellers in the capital berlin in the small hours of yesterday. A late summer soundscape that is a favorite of mine. . Microphones set up in some mature woods about 60 feet from a large lake on labor day weekend. Most of the background is the insects, which are very obvious during this time of year. The swelling of their volume is nap-inducing (*at least to me in my opinion. )here is the midwest this swelling and subsiding of the insect wave tells me that summer is just about starting to go back downhill, after a feverish peak. Despite the covid-19 of the year, nature does not seem to have changed her soundscape. Life goes on in the forests. The birds, whose job of raising young is over, are still there. . . They're just resting and relaxing and listening to the insects as well i'm sure. Now of course you will hear a few prominent birds in this captured moment:(1) a great blue heron squawks out starting at 1:17 into this piece. (2) the alarm call of a red-headed woodpecker can be heard at 2:14. Other than that, just the insects singing their hearts out and the assortment of birds taking secondary place during this time of year.
