Skates on ice: here is a very specific sound effect. The metallic slash through ice when it is being skated on. There are multiple variations of this in this track due to the amount of contact the blade of the skate has to the ice and also the force being put into the movement. It is a sharp and cold sound. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg.

Bird park: here the most prominent sounds are those of birds flying around. You can hear how wind is being pushed around by wings and of course the happy chatter between birds. Cricket ball bouncing on a bat: sounds like a constant knocking on a door but has a slight ting at the end of each bounce. Recorded using the zoomh4n and using the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. No processing has been done to this sound. The bat used in the sound is a kookaburra kahuna 150 english willow and the ball was a bellingham & smith 135g match cricket ball.

Standing outside of the catedrala sfânta treime, an orthodox church in sibiu/romania. Inside, mass is being held and singing and chanting can be heard over the ambient street noises, some children are laughing and chatting in a small park next to the church. Kittens: the screeching of 3 week old kittens is very distinct. Real kittens can be heard here. It is high-pitched and a “close-up” of these sounds coming from these tiny creatures. By overlapping some of the screeching it creates the illusion of more kittens. A slight purr can be heard which comes from the mother. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg.

One lonesome bird that lives in a tree on the neighbour's court. I recorded the tweets early in the morning from my balcony testing a røde videomc pro. There was some far away plane noise that i've filtered down quite heavily, so that now the bird sounds kind of 'isolated' and maybe somehow synthetic. Additionaly i passed an eq and a compressor (in audacity).

I began my express bus ride at venice and vermont. I proceeded to record my soundwalk for exactly one minute as i rode to venice and normandie. I sat on the top row in the middle of the bus where the two parts of bus are connected like an accordion. I narrated what i heard throughout my journey.

Chips being eaten: this sound is purposefully exaggerated to enhance the disturbing feeling of a person eating too loudly and with an open mouth. Blowing your nose: a very subtle sound but one that stays true to the common flue. You can hear the tissue crinkling when used, the slight sniffles and also the air escaping the man’s nose. Arcade ambience: here you can hear the stark sounds of an arcade. With electronic beats as background and the crashing of machines and games in the forefront. Bumper cars bumping into each other creates beautiful crashes and the laughter and mumbling of children are ever-present. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg in an actual arcade. This sound is great for setting a mood or scene and thus creating a soundscape.

A live recording of a 100+ choir in rehearsal. Recorded using a matched pair of rode nt5 for the left & right with an additional akg c451 for the centre. The idea of this recording was to capture the way a choirs sound fills a room. Some minor addtional eq has been used in the 35khz range boosting by 1db to give the performance a little oompf.

A recording of some strong winds blustering through a beautiful, yellow-leaved hickory tree in the midwest usa. I was lucky to be able to capture this beautiful, sentimental sound of the wind through clattering leaves, without the accompanying wind roar.

Speed for this recording was unknown, but probably 12-16 fps. Microphone was facing the operational side of the projector, 50 cm away. Audio begins with power being turned on, ends with power being turned off.
