Sound generated in alchemy synthesizer recorded to disk in logic pro x. Using sample-based synthesis with two oscillators through its own four-bus effects engine.

Created by processing a sample of an older man with reverbs, delays, and granular synthesis to sustain the sound and fill out the stereo field.

Heavy wrought-iron cemetery gate opening. Short sample of the groaning sound of the hinges as the gate is moved. Field recording which has been processed (trimmed and normalized).

I used a midi loop of a guitar sound and an effect to create a weird down-shifting trailing short melody sample. I used ableton live and its grain delay plugin.

Short multi-saw pannned to the left, could be useful for acid or trance. Part of a pack of samples synthesized in the generic drumsynth application.

This is a very brief sample obtained by opening a zip file with audacity. It sound a bit like a dial-up modem. It seems to work well for melodic solos and playing two or three note chords sounds good, too.

A short sample of crowd noise recorded at glasgow barrowland 2005. Never used these two channels in any mixes because someone in their wisdom decided to put the ambient mics either side of the pa subs. Genius!.

Made this using an echo. Sounds like something from eraserhead. Tweaked around the knobs and settings throughout so theres quite a bit of different noises in this sample. Use it however you like.

This was originally a friend's cat meowing but it has been processed heavily. First, it was put through a granulizer and the pitch was dropped -2 octaves. The sample was then panned l-r using automation, and bitcrushed. Lastly, to get a slight detuned feel, i added a chorus effect. This sample sounds even better with some convolution or hall reverb but i left this effect out since it's usually a effect users want total control over. The end result is a strange, alien sounding noise.

This is a repost of beerbottlewhoo. Ogg. It's the same sound except that this one is in wav format. Glass beer bottle blow sounding like the background "whoo" effect in the movies alien and blade runner. Mono. Old school spot effect. Helmholtz resonance using a partially-filled (for pitch tuning) glass beer bottle. The resulting tone was sampled, bandpass filtered, pitch bent and laid over a copy of the original sample. Reverb added post-effect to push the sound back and smooth out some nasty quantizing artefacts caused by the pitch bender.
