One of my first at attempts to make an impact sound by layering. I should have picked better source material. I used some recordings of closing a door. Http://freesound. 22 minutes stereo recording of a thunder-storm including 3 major strikes at 0:15, 15:00, and 21:00. Rain in the background. Digitally recorded as 48khz-24bit-wav (device: zoom h4). Normalized +5db, then down-sampled to 44khz/16bit. This is the ogg vorbis file (q: 60%). There is also a flac version (lossless 100mb).

A collection of sounds of a magazine flipping through its pages and a heavy book slamming shut. Recorded using a blue yeti microphone at 16-bit 44100hz in audacity. Used audacity's noise removal filter to to remove background noise. For this file, i isolated the samples i liked and left a small gap of silence between them for separation later. Attribution appreciated but not required.

Why does everything i upload sound like people screaming and/or chainsaws!?. Sound source is a contact mic producing feedback into various fx. The main fx used for the clip are a sirkut electronics gnarler, boss metal zone, dod grunge, and finally, a danelectro french fries auto wah. Recorded direct-to-sound card as usual. I took this sample from a phone message. I did use a live feed,(from the headset output on my phone, through a cable into my digital recorder. ) but it is very soft. When i tried recording with out the live feed, i couldn't even find the noise again. It could definitely use to be amped up a bit.

Rain wind and thunder : rain with heavy thunderstorm outside a shop (or coffee shop or house or tent) with raindrops on the rooftop or the canopy being mildly sharply audible. Gradually thunder and wind stop towards the end of the sample. Synthesized using noise oscillators (white, color and band) in thor in propellerheads reason.

The context of this audio is as follows: the brazilian youtuber gabs was playing a game made in the rpg maker and in the game he had the option of "sleeping alone" or "sleeping with his mother" after he chose to sleep with his mother shortly after an audio of moan is reproduced wanting to imply an incest after what happened the youtuber is totally disgusted and surprised. And gives rise to this audio.

Ripped from vinyl record and transformed into a completly new sound just to create ambient sounding effects, maybe for a background noise, or whatever the heck ya like!!. This sample was created using over 15 effects and eq's.

An attempt to make an entire drum kit using only cymbal sounds. Cymbals were pitch-shifted, compressed, equalized, and subjected to other effects in order to make them capable of filling the roles usually occupied by actual drums. One of a series of heavily processed sounds of me ripping various objects off a sticky surface. I ran the original recordings through s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, using the granular synthesis features to generate a range of distorted, robotic tones.

This is the second part of an audio filtering project (in general, signal processing). This sample shows a noisy recording of my voice, after transforming the signal using the xft (extended fourier transform), applying a filter to cut some frequencies and later applying the inverse xft. All this done with an algorithm in matlab or mathematica written by me. Check the recording before the filtering process by hearing the file "holaoriginal. Wav" and please comment.

After many months- and a trip to san clemente, ca and back- my qu-bit nebulae v1 is working! this is a snippet from qu-bit’s own double bass sample, run through a mimeophon and qu-bit’s own fdn reverb, with lashings of modulation wherever possible. My wonder at the sheer madness of the sonic experience here is only matched by my joy at having a working granular processor at last.

This is a break i made to layer over my breaks at 102bpm. It was created in free tracker jeskola buzz using vst instrument, alchemy, multiloop2-move knob 1. This is not a looped sample from the instrument, i created it using the tracker, then applied an ohm boys delay effect. Sounds great over the breaks at 102. Enjoy :).

I think this sounds a bit like a jazz age theme reflecting a journey by steam ship. It was bolted together from little loopable sections (also uploaded separately here) which were all created using edirol orchestral samples and the magic of arpeggiating programs. This break beat was made from freesound percussion hits, with some percussive hits from sound generators in fruity loops studio which was used to sequence and then quite heavily compressed in realtime, with seperate effects applied to the kicks and snares. Recorded out wav at 44khz 16bit stereo ~ 140bpm.

It's a recording of wooden door in an old village house getting closed rapidly. There is some overhead silence in this recording to allow making a smooth transision for this sample (fade-in and fade-out), because there is some background noise and little sound of me moving around. Recorded with a zoom h2 at 48khz/24-bit, edited, nomalized and converted to flac using audacity.

Some splashing in a bath in bath. Recorded using a rode nt1 running through to a tascam 1082 into logic pro 9. Samples where from taking a mug of water and pouring it into a bath full of water. ( after having a bath not to waste the water ) recorded at december 1st 2014 6:36pm. No additional plug-ins or normalisation was used.

First spring time thunderstorms hit the metro detroit today. This is a short sample of my original 2 hour recording that i thought was particularly nice. You'll hear several little thunder rumbles and rain in an city night atmosphere. Feel free to use.

Watch out for the blip! i really should have edited that out, but this sample was made by rubbing sound into some vst's using the fairlight mfx3 single frame loop feature recorded onto a mac g3 in a very smoky room very late at night. From memory this was a recording of a stone being dragged, altho a bit hazy as i think i made this sound in 1999.

This is a recording i made using my tascam dr-40 field recorder. Used the xy pattern, no post-processing, just some edits to cut off unwanted noise, wind puffs and stuff. It was recorded in santo andre, state of sao paulo, brazil. This sample has street sounds, with rain, people chatting (in portuguese), bird sounds, cars, bikes and airplane sounds.
