Inspired by the hustle and bustle of a trip to europe, i made such a short project. After listening for a while, it sounds like advertising music. Maybe it seems like a cleaning product or an application can be used to advertise. For those who want to develop, i can share the sample audio files i prepared for the project. A version of greensleeves, played on a music box with distortion and reverb, to imitate the speaker of an ice cream van. In australian ice cream vans most commonly play greensleeves for some reason, and they all use crappy amplifiers cranked up as loud as they'll go, so the result is something like this. This is a sawtooth waveform suitable for easily tuning guitar by ear, comprised of 20 seconds each of e-a-d-g-b-e in sequence. Adjust guitar volume to same volume as the tone, ideally through the same audio output. Tune the string close to the tone, then listen for the subtle beat-frequency indicating not-quite-perfect tune. When the beat frequency goes away, your guitar string is in perfect tune. Also useful for adjustable bridges. A recording made around 7:30pm at night in mid october of 2012 of leaves skittering across an asphalt street, making that unique, crackly sound. You will also hear a train off in the distance which i think adds to the sound-scape of fall. At 1:51 into the recording a car whooshes buy and with it, a cluster of leaves trailing behind it trying in vain to keep up. . . That's always been a wonderful sound sequence for me to hear. I wanted to create a sound that is scary. I was inspired by sounds for jumpscare sequences in horror movies. So here i generated an audio track and i added a « batterie risset » on it. It gaves a sound that sounds like a bell so i duplicated it 3 times more on 3 different audio tracks. Once done, i accelarated and turn up the volume on the second audio track a bit more compared to the first audio track. I repeated it on the 2 other tracks to give the impression that something is getting closer to us. After that, i generated a new audio track with a tone, i put it on overlap with the forth track and i highly turn up the volume to create a saturation in order to strongly surprise the listener. To finish, i checked that the final mixed track was not saturated, except the sequence i wanted to be saturated, and i exported the sound.

This is a clip of various engine sounds recorded on my 2003 subaru impreza wrx with a 3" turbo-back exhaust system. The audio starts with the engine at idle and includes a few engine revs at different rpms. You can hear some turbo whistling and also some rattling of god-knows-what parts. It's a little muffled (kind of a muddy sound), but could be used as part of an action sequence or with a music track laid over. Org. I imported that file to my ableton live. I reverse the sample and shorten a little. From the sample window i changed flux and grain values to bring out uneasy tones in front. I did make two other copies of the sample and played them all in same sequence, with slight different transpose values. This is the recording of an audible pedestrians traffic light in paris, france. These devices are here to help visually impaired people cross the streets in a safe way. They come under the form of a little beige box with a hidden button underneath. You have to push the button to hear the annoucement. You can find them all over the city. The sequence goes as follows: first, an annoucement in french says "red light for pedestrians", followed by the street name, then a jingle goes on, followed by a series of bell-like sounds, signaling a green light.
