In this piece, the recording of an acoustic guitar was made,with the technique of listening with one ear from several points and distances, since, as we saw in course 2, doing that is like listening to the way in which the microphone picks up the sound; and that is the specific point where the microphone must be. Exceptionally quiet night, no wind, no other sounds. The gordon river power station was 20 kms distant. Other mechanical equipment or vehicles greater then 50 kms. I could just perceive the electrical hum from the station (or from transmission lines), and so could my partner, but i can’t hear it on the recording. At 1. 30 on the recording you can hear my partner’s soft cough coming from our tent 50m away.
