This was a recording i have done when heading to an airline that will take me from bodrum to istanbul, turkey. Thought the engine of the bus worthed recording and found a quiet moment to do so. This has been recorded with an iphone 4s and has been edited with goldwave.

Here's a pretty lengthy recording of the bus i (currently) take home from school each day. (i'll hopefully be driving there as soon as i get my license. ) listen closely for ambient creaking, kids chit-chatting, and mild footsteps as the bus makes two stops (on this recording) on certain stops. It's a recording of me taking some vitamin pills (3xrutinoscorbin). You can hear me taking the box, opening it, pulling out the blister, poping out the pills, putting the blister back into the box, closing the box, throwing it away, taking the pills into my mouth, taking a glass of water, dringing water, swallowing pills, putting the glass on the table, and breathing out. There is much background noise, bu it's static and i leaved a clear sample so you can denoise this. Recorded with a zoom h2 into ardour daw. Originally 4800khz/16-bit wav. Converted to flac with ardour.

11 minutes of ambient noise from a city: people chattering, pigeons and birds calling, traffic moving, dogs barking, buses taking off or squealing to a stop, etc. Taken from my apartment window in downtown seattle. Mic used: blue yeti (usb condenser, cardioid setting).

Field recording of a train ride in the western outskirts of paris. I wanted to capture what passengers actually hear when they take that train. It's a bombardier regional train with diesel engine. This is simportant because it gives this particular train a distinctive acoustical fingerprint: you can hear engine bursts (a bit like a bus hitting the gas) no electrical train does that. . . It also has a nice roaring drone. Recorded with a zoom h2n in stereo x/y mode.

The same as my other fire whoosh sound, but i used a hi-pass eq at the 50hz mark to take out some of the "mud. ". --. This is a quick fire sound i made using qubodup's "swing 25" public domain/cc0 upload on this site. It's a bamboo stick swinging, which i layered and toyed with to get the results here. For those curious, here are the steps. * i took the file into reaper, and slowed the file's playback rate to 31% of the original. * i then duplicated the file three times, for a total of 4 tracks. * track 1 (lowish gas-burner sound):- reverb (drum-room impulse response, a medium-sounding reverb with a slight deadness to it. In free impulse loader reverberate le, stretched impulse to 150% and set attack time to 0. 218s). - eq (-8db bandpass near 200hz, rising back to 0 by the 1k mark. Low-pass applied at 5. 8khz). * track 2 (lowest of sounds, like a bassy gas-burner):- chorus effect. That's it. (specifically acon digital multiply, a free plugin, set to the "romantic" preset). * track 3 (not as low as track 2, but closer to track 2 than 1)- reverb (a large hall impulse response. No adjustments, ie. No increased attack or stretching like for track 1. ). -chorus doubler (free plugin duet, preset: "basic doubler. " same effect as if i had doubled the track and pitched one up 6 cents. ). - chorus (free plugin acon digital multiply, preset: "romantic. "). * track 4 (most flame-thrower, whooshy of tracks. )- reverb (impulse response says "hall medium," but it's a thick, even echo from start to finish. Makes the sound go from its default "whoosh" to a flamethrower noise. - chorus doubler (duet again, preset: basic doubler). - chorus (acon digital multiply, preset: "romantic. "). Master bus:. - compressor (tdr kotelnikov mastering compressor, the free successor to the tdr feedback compressor ii. Preset: punchy. Street noises recorded while walking through the most touristy area of montmartre, in paris, france. Streets visited include rue des saules, rue norvins, rue du mont cenis, rue du chevalier de la barre, rue du cardinal guibert, rue azais, rue saint eleuthere, in that order. He had a powerful but distorted amplifier--the bad sound quality was like that in real life. I turned around in front of the basilica on this dead-end street and that's why the music switches sides. 08:23-08:40-> yes, that's a chainsaw. The city was trimming some large trees. 09:33-09:47-> more chainsaw noise as i walked past the workers on azais street. 10:00-11:00-> increasing crowd noise as i walk back north to the busiest part of montmartre along saint eleuthere street.
