I was fooling around with audacity and created this neat little sound. I have no clue how to lower the volume, and really, i mean it: this thing is loud. I keep my volume at 10% and i couldn't even listen to this thing with my headphones. I have tried to lower the volume (so that it doesn't hurt the ears) but to no avail. If you by chance know how (in audacity) then feel free to tell me in the comments and i'll re-upload a non-deafening version. If you use it i don't mind at all, though i am curious, if you do use it, what you'll use it for. Either way, i don't mind, but i'm curious by nature.

Here's a old geiger counter with the tube held by a radioactive test sample, probably / hopefully fairly well decayed. Audio is recorded by hanging the headphones on a blue bluebird condenser, as the headphone connector is an unusual 1/2 inch threaded thing. The serial number of this unit is 71605.

The first thing i've made exploring garageband! the melody is taken from the yiddish folk song "ale brider/un mir zaynen ale brider" (all are brothers/and we are all brothers). I hope you like it!.

The drone has a form of pattern repeating every 2 minutes. But other thing are vaguely linked to this pattern. The heart of this patch is intellijel quadra + expansion. I'm using 3 oscillators and noise. I add some character to the sound with a driver pedal (boss bd-2).

Recorded with a zoom h4n onboard microphones, spur of the moment kind of thing. No checking for an optimal recording position, or levels. I just switched it on, opened the window fully and started recording. The batteries were running on empty so i quickly caught as much as i could.

This file has so much to offer. "the number you dialed is not a working number. " in english and spanish. With error codes, fast busy signals, and a hang-up tone. There's a lot here that you can cut from. Or use the whole thing!.

I saw this huge storm brewing, so i put my laptop next to an open window, thinking that i might record a nice atmospheric recording of rain and light thunder, and i caught this thing, no more than 500m away. I had the sensitivity turned all the way up, and the microphone i am using isn't the best, but someone might get a use of it :).

An ambient startup sound made for a game console. This is not copyrighted or anything, i made it myself to try and imitate the type of sound you'd hear when turning on a ps4 or ps5. Feel free to use it for that sort of thing.

A simple chromatic sfx i made for a title screen. Can be used for power-ups, jumps or other ideas. Normally would strictly be an 8 bit sound, but with the reverb it can pass for something from the snes era. This is part one of two. The next file is the same thing with a higher pitch.

I opened the woodstove door while recording with a zoom h1 n. So the first thing you hear is the door opening, and then the latch falling down. The fire had just been lit. It is starting to ignite the douglas fir wood slowly but surely, and you can hear the kindling crackling.

A real small laugh. During a recording, i started laughing for a stupid reason, and ruined the recording. But one good thing that came out of it, was the laugh. I have the full version of the recording saved somewhere(i know where), but i do not believe it is that great. I decided to cut the beginning of the recording, leaving only the laugh.

This is me playing around with my various string instruments. I decided to try to create a creepy string texture-ish sound, but it came out sounding like a haunted string orchestra. I hope you like it. I used a foot-long violin, a full-sized violin, a ukulele, and my father's home-made frettless banjo-thing.

I modified a sound i found on here (it was labeled as "cc0" or public) to give it a bit of a psycho sound. The original user is "memz" and the title they made is "thriller score horror scene". The only thing i did was rearrange the audio so that it echoes in and out. If you appreciate the sound, give "memz" the accolades and not me.

This sound was from a live video feed on a social media broadcast. At some point the audio just got caught into a feedback loop that lasted for a bit. I thought it sounded interesting and saved it. Has kind of a laser or phaser cannon kind of thing going on. Perhaps an alert sound of some sort. Probably many possibilities for usage.

I produced this sound using massive exported through fl studio 20. Clean 808 bass sound sustained with no distortion, no bs, just that thing that makes your speakers jump. This sound is a katana sword being swung close to the microphone it was recorded in a gym. It was recorded using a zoom h1 with foam windscreen attached. The clip was cleaned up (removed air condition sound) in adobe audition cs6. You can hear some handling of the sword at some points. Some swings have a higher pitch than others but this is the real thing.

From a distance - sounds of a civil war reenactment. Ca. 1991 near portland or. Gunfire some canons and (rebel) yelling. This part gets cut off - sorry, this was back in the days of dat. Then more individual canon and gunfire with lots of natural reverb. Actually some of this is good for convolution if that's your thing. . . .

bruxxing is when a rodent grinds its teeth. Sometimes it can be quite loud. It may seem like a sign of aggression, but it's actually their way of showing they are content. My boys will often brux for lengths of time, but unfortunately i could only catch this little bit. Also, they do this thing called "boggling," which is when their eyes seem to be popping from their sockets. As strange as it looks, it means they're really happy.

This is a clip which contains the background audio which i need enhanced. I can't quite make out all the words, but i do know that the words "rapin him" are said, and the name "carter", and "positive thing". When i recorded this clip, i put the conversation on a loop, trying to make it easier to edit it while i listened, but i still can't make it all out. Good luck.

Generated 10 minutes of white noise, applied some eq and what i may call stereo expansion, and got this thing that should be good enough to be used as an ambient sound for cold weather or polar wind. Many of the sounds i have found here and elsewhere, have other noises and/or were created through other methods like blowing.

Fire alarm as used in sunderland royal hospital. This damn thing was tested over a dozen times, whilst i was sitting in the urology department waiting to have the p***taken out of me. I happened to be testing the voice recording capabilities of my sansa clip zip mp3 player, at the time. I'll think you'll agree this is exceptional quality for such a tiny microphone and only minimal background noise removal.

I was wondering how to make a glitch soynd since i was downloading a lot of that. Ended up making this beat type thing. ( needs compression). I recorded my self saying "how the f%%k do i make a glitch sound!?" i reversed the f word for censorship. Then it use the mix modulation function in caustic's modular synth to modulate it with a 909 beat & a 8bit synth sound.

A bunch of weird and hopefully interesting noises. Created using the korg electribe 2 synthesis engine with alot of modulations and asynchron patterns. Post-processing in cubase. 50 claps made in blok modular from scratch. Supposed to sound very unrealistic/dry/drum machine-like as possible so you don't have to sample the real thing. Some of these use asymmetric waveshaping which adds dc offset (0 hz noise) so you may want to highpass the crustier ones. I would've uploaded a zip of the individual hits but because of the way freesound works you'll have to chop it up yourself.
