Thunder sound synthesized from a randomly generated tone, and processed (in audacity) with: multivoice chorus, harmonic sythesizer, tons of gverb, 2-second delay, and fade-in/fade-out where appropriate. This is the end of a heavy thunderstorm, at the beginning of the recording it is hearable the last thunder(unfortunatly). During the recording is possible to hear also some cars. The recording was made using a roland r05 mounted on a tripod facing to a hedge.

Recorded just after midnight on the 4th of july 2015 during a heavy storm across southern england. The occasional rumbles of thunder came from about 50 kilometers away. The intensity of the rain slowly fades over the length of the recording. Marantz pmd-661 with internal mics.

I recorded a pretty gnarly storm on 8/25 around 1:30 am. The cars are off the road but you still get that city reflection. I placed two rode nt5s in my living room windows and set them to record for about nine minutes. It wouldn't be great for an outdoor situation but it's a good "thunderstorm from an apartment in the city" recording. It's in 16 44. 1, stereo. Use it for whatever you want, no credit needed. -jp.

Ambisonic test recording made with a sennheiser ambeo mic into a sound devices mixpre 6 ii. Recorded in 32bit float. Mic position was 'endfire'. Not too much action but it gives a good idea of how a quiet ambiences sound in ambisonic. You will need the sennheiser ambeo plugin in order to convert this recording into b-format.

A soundscape of several thunderstorms mixed together to create a uniquely immersive, full field recording. I believe this was recorded with a sound devices 702 and a neumann rsm 191 stereo shotgun in a concrete stairwell. You can hear the rain hitting the stairs and going down the drain. It's also hitting some junk at the top of the stairs. There are big thunder claps and more distant rumbles.

Recorded a near lightning strike using a vive surround sound mic and an h4n zoom recorder. The audio file was edited in adobe audition. The surround sound effect should play in any dolby surround sound system. This was my first attempt.

This is about 14 minutes of a short rain/thunderstorm. The file fades in on light rain but then you hear a swell of heavier rain with light thunder. It all comes back down again by the end with some birds thrown in!.
