This is a recording on the beach of dangar island in the hawkesbury river, nsw, australia. It features a lot of local bird songs and a touch of ocean ambience. The field-recording was taken with a tascam dr-44wl, with the onboard xy mic pair @ 24bit 48khz.

This sound was made by wiggling one cutting board against another to create a sound of wood colliding each other when dropped as they touch the ground. This was recorded at the open window institute sound booth in centurion, south africa.

I like to listen to static (often actually) and it actually shifts a lot through out the day. So i heard some cool ringy stuff. . & decided to sweep through the am band. . . And actually touching the screen of my cell made the static louder. Sounds like a synth.

Basically layered a 200hz snare body, similar to a 909, low-passed and saturated. Added in a transient sound, then a certain impact sound that you wouldn't expect, layered together with some high end white noise, compressed, then used a transient shaper for that final touch.

An experimental sound i did. It kinda sound like some space jet or something, i don't know. But yeah, it's experimental. To make the sound, first, i recorded the wind coming from my electric fan, then i edited it in adobe auditions cs6, then audacity for the final touches.

Sounds from various cafes around wellington new zealand. Recorded on an ipod touch, so quality is not great and mono. Mostly the sounds are the general ambience of the cafe, people talking, music playing and coffee being made, a few are outside so there are the sounds from the street and traffic.

Clean recording of various sounds that would occur when maneuvering around an office space (specifically a desk) and manipulating common office objects. Recording features lots of paper rustling and sliding across a wooden desk, handling pens and a stapler, stuffing manila folders and plastic binders, and towards the end there are some sounds of small-medium sized personal bag being unzipped and zipped and then being filled with some of the office materials. Should work great for filling in general office noises in a scene or reinforcing actions that involve any of the materials featured in the recording. There should be enough variety to allow you to glean more isolated sounds or just use assortments of layered sounds. Recorded with an akg p170 into a tascam 208i audio interface at 48khz/24-bit. Microphone was positioned roughly 1. 5 - 2 feet away from the source. There is some slight room reverb present, which is intentional, and should match common office workspaces well. An 85hz high-pass filter was applied to remove any unintentional, unnatural low-frequency rumbling that may have been picked up during recording.

This was originally composed at the keyboard as an improv on multiple tracks. I sped it up to 210 bpm and ran it through the vita virtual synthesizer as "soundtrack percussion", amps off, s and r filters on and lots of delay. A virtual drum loop with a human touch. Heavy beat. War drums 3 is a faster version of this.

Recorded in 2005 on an unusually chilly september day, while walking in downtown ottawa, friends and i came across a ceremonial event at the war cenotaph. I thought i'd record the sounds of traffic, people and background music and my timing was good as the choir launched into a sombre and touching rendition of danny boy to remember fallen soldiers of war.

This is a wave of some sounds that remind me of what sound design for the rugrats cartoon backing music. I made the sounds using an fm synthesis patch on the ios application "addictive synth" on my ipod touch and recorded the audio within the app. No post-processing was done to the audio. Squeaky audio cable-to-speaker incomplete connection. One end is plugged into a speaker and the other is not plugged into anything. The squeaking sound is made from my fingers touching the tip and sides of the metal tip of the non-connected end of the cable. The variation of sound and pitch is from moving my fingers up and down the metal tip in different speeds, angles, and placements.
