Recorded a train i was on. It's the patco train between philadelphia and nj suburbs. Sorry for the length but i figured it would be most useful if you could cut and mix it up for different sounds since there are a many different types. Tunnel, terrestrial, horns, door bell, door actions etc. Recorded from the second car.

Typing (real words!) on a kinesis advantage keyboard with cherry mx brown mechanical switches. Recorded at my desk with rode procaster, triton fethead, focusrite scarlett 2i2 into audacity. Untreated room (hence dynamic mic) but noise remoived with audacity. I needed this for my own purposes so i thought i'd upload it. I hope someone finds it useful :).

My recording "fizzy water" is much better than this version. Please use it, not this one. I made a video recording of a glass of carbonated water in a tall glass, using an ipad. Then i played it back and recorded it using a zoom h2 stereo recorder. So it got processed through the different media. It produces a nice fizzy sound that some people will find useful.

This a spare recording from a short film i was making. It's a stereos track but all sounds are recorded to the left channel. This was recorded on a zoom h4n and a sennheiser me67. The sound is of a woodland near liskeard, cornwall, uk. There are occasionally cars passing, but mostly it's quite clean - and the cars might be useful for somebody.

Just a small creak from the chair in the office of a whalewatching captain i was interviewing. A bit of ambient noise. Not much of a contribution, i know, but i've been using little creaks such as this to recreate the sound of a 15th-century sailing ship, so thought it might come in useful for someone somewhere.

A guitar through defective self-modulating delay. The time potentiometer went "bad" after years of hard twisting and abuse, and now it warbles and pitch-shifts on it's own. It's very temperamental, though. The pedal is a johnson "ead-2 analog echo delay". May be useful for an outro or something! let me know if you use it, i'd love to hear the results!.

I generated this sound for a scene of a short video in which a zombie attacks my friend. It's a loud burst of roars and snarls, altered using audacity. I recorded myself doing my best zombie voice, then i lowered the pitch, boosted the bass, and added a phaser to make it more wet and added some feedback. I hope you find it useful!.

A baler machine being used at a recycling centre. The baler goes through a full cycle from start to finish and is generally used to compress cardboard into small cubes which can then be recycled. Recorded to iphone using sennheiser ambeo smart headset (binaural mic). There's a dip in level in the first 10 seconds where i'm playing with the mic, but it levels out shortly after that. Recorded while seated, with the "front" of the train towards the right ear. Not the greatest quality, but perhaps it will be useful to you as a background ambience.

I started recording a vinyl lp into my computer before realising that i hadn’t set the anti-skate properly and the needle was stuck in the lead-in groove. I trimmed this bit of snap crackle n’ pop and kept it in the hope that it might be useful for me or anyone else. Have fun.

Recorded using a 1974 mgb sports car. Mic placed on passenger floorboard. Sound of start, idle, accelerating and going through gears, steady state (can be edited and looped for longer scenes) and coast down and shut off. Very throaty sound recorded in-cabin which would be period correct for british cars of that era and useful for in-car scenes behind dialog.

This collection of kitchen sound effects was captured on a tascam dr-07. I carried the recorder around the kitchen opening and closing drawers, the refrigerator, and clattering/clanking plates and silverware. I even did a water pour into a drinking glass. After recording i edited the sounds in protools using a variety of compression and limiting plugins. I hope you find this useful.

This sound is the sound of the door to my bathroom closing from the outside. To record this i used my sontronics stc-10 microphone, my audiobox interface and pro tools on my mac at 48khz, 24 bit. A sort of renaissancey version of the first two lines of ding dong merrily on high, composed on cubase with samples from the edirol orchestral plug in (a bit of harp, french horn, alto flute and violin with kettle drum and sleigh bell percussion). This was for the intro to a radio sketch but hopefully could be useful for other theme setting. Sorry in advance for not doing the whole song.

Recording of a pair of oven mitts being hit together. Might be useful in a game as an inventory sound. Recorded using a blue yeti microphone at 16-bit 44100hz in audacity. Used audacity's noise removal filter to to remove background noise. For this file, i isolated the samples i liked and left a small gap of silence between them for separation later. Attribution appreciated but not required.
