This is the tone produced by what seemed to be a building security system reporting a problem with its state. The building was a nursing home.

I made this as a near ultrasonic sms signal. Created and edited with audacity, filtered with glame bandpass filter. If you hardly cut a pure tone, you introduce a whole lot of other frequencies to the signal at the cutting point. To avoid this after the cutting you need to filter the whole thing with a bandpass filter to ensure you have as little other frequency content as possible. It will audibly soften the start and the end of the sound. That's what i did here.

Bass warning!a 13second sinewave, the tone sweeps up from exactly 20hz to 190 hz then stops. It was recorded in logic pro & i use it from time to time to do sub sweeps. If your speakers are loud please don't have them cranked up without hearing low first.

A short alarm followed by a beep, which sounds like a missile locking system being used. To create this effect i sped up and changed the pitch of an alarm clock, and followed it by a beep from a tone generator, which created my desired effect. Recorded may 23rd 2022 at noon for the 70 year anniversary of the first siren test in sedgwick county, kansas. (april 22, 1952). 50-65 feet from the siren. This thunderbolt was installed in 1952 and remained until sometime between 2012 and 2015 when the siren head was replaced with a newer bolt. The original controls and blower remain, however.

Completely made in sony sound forge 10 with the fm tools. Starts off with a sine 6,000 hz to ~12,000 hz in about three seconds to emulate a camera flash warming up. For those who intend to use it as a part of a futuristic weapon in games, flashes, or movies, i also added a double beep as a "weapon ready" cue and final tone at the for an optional "locked on" which could also double as an error beep.

The beep tones my old pager makes when it is turned on. There are a couple 'boot up' beeps followed by the 'low battery' warning beeps. I needed some of this sound to use in a theatrical production [ a new brain ]. I recorded it on my laptop computer using a cheep condenser mic and audacity.

Disclaimer: this may be loud. Check your volume. This sound is an experiment i did for a short film my crew and i are working on. I wanted to see if i could make a warning effect like the civil defense messages that play on the radio for storms and other emergencies, so i recorded my voice, and pitched it down, equalized it, put it through a high pass filter and lo and behold, i think it sounds pretty darn close. I then coupled it with a couple alert tones from my local noaa / nssl station and this sound was born. This effect could be used for an apocalyptic scenario or civil unrest, riots, looting, or anything else you desire. Not required, but it would be cool to hear if you use it for anything. Enjoy!.

Stereo recording of a train arriving and departing at aldgate east tube station, and another train departing on the other track. London underground trains have rubber wheels and a characteristic kind of rumble. The doors open and close automatically. Faint tannoy announcement in the background, and a couple of electronic warning tones when the doors open and close. Aldgate east station is huge but has a surprisingly 'dry' and 'dead' acoustic so that it is very quiet when the trains have gone. Recorded on a zoom h2 recorder, front microphones, 90 degree separation. No amplification or equilisation on this sample.
