Sci-fi/cave background noise i created for a game i worked on. The mechanical/windy sounds are an edited recording of my washing machine.

Recorded with a sennheiser mkh 416 into a tascam dr-100 mkii.

Recorded with a zoom h2n in xy mode. The jets are making the metal plates hit each other in a rythmic way. Sounded like a train or something steampunk. Liked it captured it. 2 parts: washing (with clangs) and draining.

This is a sound of mine that i made, it's a washing machine on a fast spin, it sounds rather like an old british style diesel train at speed. I used my canon power shot a460 camera video to film the washing machine in action and simply took the sound from the video. How would a frightened galaxy feel when coming to close to a black hole? well, i can imagine it if i am 1 mm tall and am sitting on the edge of the washing bowl in my kitchen and see and listen to this sound.

I was surprised that this came out so well, an awesome water-down-the-drain sound in my very own kitchen sink. A plastic dishpan was tipped and held there until the water exited. Quite a roar, unmodified except that it is contained in the dish washing file.

I placed the microphone against the bottom of a running dishwasher. The sound goes through a couple of stages. Mostly muffled wet sounds. Recorded with edirol r-1 & sennheiser me66.

This is a background sound usable for things like a video featuring space and the universe. The production is based in synthesizer melodies, but it's been washed out enough to make it more of a sound effect, instead of a song you can listen to.

Kitchen cleaning and espresso machine cleaning: over several minutes you hear the cleaning of an espresso machine, cleaning all the metal parts of it and working with water and sponges. Recorder: zoom h4n with the internal mic on 48khz with 24bit.

A large energy charging then firing with a persistent explosion that ends with a massive blast. Created using a wide variety recorded sounds (including a washing machine, sliding of rocks in a metal bucket, and various other objects being thrown and collided), mixed and heavily edited in audacity.

Medium sized waves recorded sitting on a groyn (no giggling - that's the name given for a construction of wood or rock going out perpendicular to the coast to avoid erosion or longshoredrift)from whence i could get the gurgling of the water as well as the crashing of the small waves and the sucking and pulling of the stones. Recorded on a minidisk with an sm58 from what i recall.

Early morning rain recorded from under cabin porch. Shoreline on the river rhine in switzerland. 96khz 24bit/s.

Ambience of flowing water or heavy rain. Created with the korg electribe 2 using various white noise sources. These are filtered, the filters itself are modulated by a random modulation. Post-processing was done in cubase.

5. 1 surround close range field recording of the beach at étretat, a seaside resort in the normandy region of france. The recorder is about 2m away from the surf, the sea is very choppy with heavy waves washing over the pebbles on the beach. Recorded with a zoom h2n and matrixed to 5. 1 surround.

This recording was made with an iphone 4s fitted with a tascam condenser stereo microphone in an asian restaurant in bern. We hear the sound of the restaurant with people eating and chatting while the open kitchen is busy washing and preparing dishes. One of the bus boys is singing to himself, which can be heard dimly and at some point a bell strikes a few times.

Another very old production, i think this one's from around 2009 even!. Using the reverb of a chord i made on my guitar i created a drone-y, washed out sound. Added some subtle bitcrushed drums, cymbals and a vst synthesizer plays some notes to fill it out a bit, and a dark brooding bass-like instrument pulls up near the end of the track.

I recorded this quick improvisation with my built-in laptop microphone and track monitoring on in reaper, which resulted in it sounding washed-out, warped, and screechy in the high end. At the beginning you hear the distorted wail of a left click initiating the recording. Somebody walks into the living room at the end and we share an exchange. This is a 4 mic recording taken inside a pachinko parlor in akasaka, tokyo. There are so many loud machines and the background music is so loud that you can hardly make out individual sounds and the entire space is just a wash of noise. If you listen closely to this one you can hear some of the individual balls dropping. (when you play pachinko, you win metal balls which can be exchanged for cash later. ).

Recorded on august 22nd 2020 using my sony pcm-10 recorder. An overnight recording going into early morning. A beautiful soundscape of a insect-laden overnight in a small midwest town. Fascinating to contemplate how, while us humans are sleeping soundly, preparing for our next day, nature, is performing this nightly chorus, under cover of darkness. Gentle, drowsy insects gently rocking the world. Washing over the world with the re-birth that night brings.

I drove my car into a wall; and recorded the proximity alert from it. I then washed it through audacity; slowed it 23%; and trimmed the edges. The result? -chilling. A few indistinct gulps cool the atmosphere a little more. It's not the making of a corpse - but it sounds a bit like it?. Created and formatted for the make noise morphagene, this reel is divided into three sections with like sounds clustered together for ease of navigation. The first group of splices are glitchy, percussive, experimental, modular snippets. The middle third consists of melodic and chordal washes. The final cluster is a series of field recordings taken from a recent trip to beirut, lebanon, with a cut up inspired splice at the very end. The morning after christmas 2022 on hood canal. There was a king tide that came up over the stone wall. A king tide occurs when the sun, moon, and earth are in alignment and the combined gravitational pull causes water levels to rise dramatically. I took this recording right next to the pilings where the dock is connected. You can hear the water hitting the metal and wood as it knocks it around. The water eventually washed over the road.
