This was recorded while my band was on tour in may 2006. Went out for a walk and got the crap scared out of me by these two junkyard dogs, so i went back to record them. Audiotechnica at22 > marantz pmd660 > edited in wavelab.

A sound i thought i could hear in my mind and i thought i might be able to find, but decided to go out and create this one. We went out and literally hit metal rulers against a metal staircase handrail, and then went into audacity and reverberated a copy underneath the sound, and tweaked it a bit to add the lasting effect.

I opened a box, went through the cassette tapes, took one out, took the tape out of the plastic box, inserted it in the cassette player, pressed play, then pressed stop. Mono recording.

I have a lot of birds and a rooster. I went out in the yard and recorded them from huawei p40 lite all together.

It was a dark and stormy night. Suddenly the power went out and the cellar door opened. . . Actually it's the lid to my coffee pot. Includes four similar creaks for your choosing.

Mechanical outdoor siren recorded at a public park in bettendorf, iowa, united states. Attack (wavering) mode. The steady mode went on for several minutes so i just faded it out.

I really went all out on this one.

This is recorded when i went out from a park using a staircase. There were some leaves on one of the steps.

This is a recording made in italy in the province of rieti while i filmed everything, as i was returning home, then i left my apartment, then i took the elevator and went to the top floor where i then went up to the roof of my palace, then i took the elevator again and went downstairs out the door and then got into the car. This recording was done with the shure mv88 plus digital stereo microphone connected to my new iphone 12 pro.

I was trying to make a techno song for my friend that went horribly wrong!!! i converted her voice into midi, then opened the midi into sony acid and used refx nexus to try and make a techno song, but something went wrong in sony acid during rendering and it took 30 minutes to render, and this scary suspense ambiance was what came out of the failed rendering of the song. . . This is perfect for those scary movies you need to make. . . I hope you find a use out of my failed song attempt!!!.

Was out for a walk next to a bridge while a train went by, the rattle of the empty cargo containers contrasted rhythmically with the ones that were full. This is a loop so you can have an infinite train roll through your soundscape. Recorded on my cellphone and cleaned up in reaper. Production-now. Com - shout-outs welcome.

I went to a horror film festival and mostly got the music stuck in my head. This was one attempt to work it out. Not majorly successful but maybe useful to someone. As ever, made with edirol orchestral on cubase.

Went out to get birdsong and general ambience without realizing it was going to rain. First two minutes can hear birds and bugs and nature sounds, then past the 3 minute mark the rain begins to set in gradually.

I set up three mics in our flat and went out drinking. The sound is mostly traffic and drunk people.

A sudden thunderstorm was making a peculiar noise while water dripped off my balcony, so i went out and captured it as the rain slowly decreased and eventually stopped. Recorded with zoom h4n pro.

I recorded my voice while playing freelance horror games; scp-087-b and slender sanatorium. This was so i could get genuine reactions to use as stock voice clips for future use. Some pretty interesting stuff came out. Went around in circles and got lost.

This is exactly what you think. An ice cream truck sat idle a few doors down from me and i got two runs of the song it plays before people came out or a car went by. The song is pretty clean.

I went out back to record the robin and also noticed a smaller pileated woodpecker right over on the wood pile. Listen hard and you'll hear it peck the wood. That's the first sound you hear along with the robin and my neighbors kids. Recorded on my yamaha pocketrak and edited on sony vegas with two track duplications. An early spring bird-recording trip turned into a surprise, steady rain. (*actually, it should not have been a surprise, i just was too lazy to check the weather before i went out exploring nature!). I set up my zoom h4n recorder partially under a picnic table and recorded this wonderful, peaceful light rain falling in a small field of very large white pines, which were growing on a penninsula of a small lake. Every now and then you will hear a bird singing out. Again, recorded using my handy zoom h4n recorder with the built-in stereo microphones. Enjoy. Kevin.

Took my edirol 24bit recorder out to the local shopping village a few years back. I went for a walk through the car park and into the shopping center. While i was on vacation, this two fellas just loved to bark almost all night long. Yeah, i know, some rest i got. . . :(so, at least i went out and recorded them with my zoom h6, xy mics, 44khz 16bit. They got pretty upset as you can see. There's some low frequency rumble at the beginning probably due to bad handling, sorry. Should be easily solved with a lo-cut, though.

I discovered beepbox yesterday and decided to try it out, getting the melody as i went. This was the final result. I look forward to do more. This is how lost my shoes at the mexico city metro, it was almost like the scene in the harry potter's movies when they get into a looping parallel dimension until you get out in another dimension, yes i really felt i went into another dimension inside the metro and that's the exact sound from when it happened. Okay, about this small bibliothek there is a story to tell. Maybe a year ago my mother phoned me and asked if i could give her a hand because the door to her kitchen was squeaking. After work i went to her, went down to the cellar, took the can with the lubricating grease, went upstairs and made my mother happy. Then i putted the grease back and went upstairs. Whe sat down, drank a cup of coffee. Then i had to go to the toilet andnoticed that the toilet door was squeaking too. So i went down to the cellar again and took once again the grease. Now i thought, before i make the stairs again, i'll show if any other thing in my mothers house is squeaking. It was terrible! i swear, never in my entire life i've been in a house where so many different things were squeaking so impassionated. First off all i went back to my car and took my cheap dictaphone i use for work. And before i putted grease on those squeaking things i recorded them. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. So this are really historic sounds! none of them exist anymore in the real world!. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. But. . . When i heard through them later i was disappointed of the bad sound quality, cutting out higher ond lower frenquencies of the rich spectrum of those "neeeeiiiks" and "uiihggs". During winter holidays i processed them first with the audacity noise reduction - then with other tools. The result gives an unreal impression of the original sounding, they have now some "synthetic" touch - but makes them probably usable for funny films or comic-likeeffects. All the sounds in my "big squeek pack" where recorded in one afternoon and all in my mothers house. "tension-sounds" for example are nothing else than a junker (tin can? - sorry, my english) moved from one side of a wooden shelf to another, meanwhile my dictoaphone was laying in the junker. I don't ask to credit me - but if you make use of one of these sounds and create something funny with them, please let me know. . . So i can show it my mother too. Thank you.

I went out to the lake to record some ducks. This day they weren’t squawking as much as i’d hoped, but the wind was calmer than it normally is, and the wind really is your biggest enemy when making outdoor recordings like these. But overall, the recording isn’t bad. The ducks are smallish black ones with white beaks called the american coot. Lots of tweeting birds in there too, especially the first half, and i think those are just the normal small sparrows that you see everywhere. Couple people chatting, but they’re way in the distance. From frederick noad's book: 'idiots guide to playing the guitar. ' noad plays it so beautifully, i could never match him, but i just wanted to try it with the electric instead. Recorded with my squire tele and squire bass into the focusrite interface. The guitar went through the walrus slo pedal on 'dream' setting with editing done in reaper. (shout out to kenny gioia for the tips). Bass was run through my behringer bxl 1800 bass amp and through the interface. Both instruments were triple tracked. I was demoing the new digital performer 10. 1 with a royer r-10 pair in blumlein array but wanted to check out one of the ribbons because it possibly sounded blown so i went ahead not bothering to create a new mono file. The mic was tracked through a yamaha mixer into digital performer via a motu 624. I have various cymbals including a paiste hi-hat and a zildjian ride which i bowed or scraped. There is an occasional tiny bit of noise from the hard drive, sorry. It has the hiccups. Some of these have an effect or two like a flange on one or more and a bit of delay but mostly you just hear the marvelous and very interesting cymbals!.

Here's some more of that young couple next door. For this one, they probably went 15+ minutes. Their libido must be really high for this day/night. From my listening, it seems like they were not doing it in bed the entire time. They must have used other furniture and played around in different positions. From 3:30 or even before that is when they start. Passed 5:00 is when the woman starts to moan loud. 14:55 is when they finish. 16:07 guy says i'm tired. Note that the original audio had more bed and furniture creak noises, almost 30 mins long, and some of their chats cut out. Also note that some of the noises left in on the good parts may not be sex noises. This was edit and shorten with audacity.

On an even night of april 2018, in a huge temple in bangkok -none of the famous ones-, i went to crash funerals -i truly recommend do this; people is very nice and the spectacle it's just amazing, you have singing, acrobatics, free food. . . This recording came from a taoist funeral -that night they have also some others in that temple -i need to find out which one, but i think it's next to sam sen subway station-, many, buddhist funerals. Just now, i realized the singing it's in mandarin. Over the funeral chatting, you heard the singer voice and the instrument, timbals, erhu. A very oriental ambiance. Not edited. Recorded with my old, and now quite cranky, zoom ii recorder.

I invited a lady friend over to netflix and chill. When we were about to sit down, i casually asked if i could change into something more comfortable, wearing jeans and really just wanting to fuck. Another recording of rain and thunder, but in some ways a better one. This one is a surprisingly big crack and rumble preceded and followed by a nice sounding rain. I made this by positioning a stereo-matched pair of akg c451b condenser mics in an exaggerated x-y configuration (a wider stereo field) and aiming them out of my open window. The mics went into a universal audio 2-610 preamp, an apogee duet 2, and then ableton at 48khz and 24 bits. I believe i had the mics set flat, and there was no post processing (though i was mightily tempted to upload the much-better-sounding eqed and compressed files) so that you can fine tune it to suit your needs. You'll notice that the loudest parts of the thunder boom clipped the input, but, due to the pleasant and forgiving nature of vacuum tubes, the clipping sounds more compressed than distorted. This time i promised my self to make my cuts more musical, you guys know, good outside (or) inside recording can be esthetic in many ways. When you walk around and listen carefully, you can hear music everywhere. When i got home i began chopping, an then i realized i could turn this mini recording session into some cool loops as well. I think its a good way of practicing sound design(or anything musically), to just limit your self some times. Basically got the idea when i was studying musique concréte. (concrete music). Could upload the samples if some one is interested?. I used no effects at all, no panning (stereo recordings) or no limiters/compressors. Some of the recording where made by using binaural microphones. I recorded everything with my zoom h4.

I was super inspired to post here again after an insane coincidence happened!. I was in an online class (thanks, covid) where we were supposed to redo all the sounds and music for an animation we chose. We were encouraged to use sound libraries and freesound. Org. In one classmate's animation, a sound he used seemed very familiar, and then it hit me. . It's my sound! from this site! the crazy part is he has my same first name. But anyway, thank you for taking a look and listen to this sound which is about 2 years old now, heh. I went to this exhibit about electronic and/or audio stuff. In the show they were doing on stage, they brought various tesla coils and things i forgot the name of. I decided to take a video. The only processing i did was cutting out any talking during the raw recording.

The office chair is a usual one with wheels and black, but been fixed and soldered and painted a lot for over 2 years (don't khow how long this chair was being used by the previous owner. To get the sound i just sit on it, put my phone on a tripod using the apk easy voice recorder pro by digipom, and then started moving with my feet trying for 30 minutes to get interesting sounds out of it, sometimes falling to get one continuous sound, but i never did that so my experience and technique is lacking also i dind't edit in audacity i just recorded send to email and uploaded here. The thing is that i got as a gift from a family friend and me and my dad soldered that thing probably 6 times to fix the sounds,pieces falling off, me geting in the ground after the entire base broked!( i wished i could show the picture in the center down of it) so before i went ahead to fix it again, i decided after talking to friends if i should record and upload, so here it is!. I hope is useful somehow to someone, now i can feel more at ease in repairing this chair again.

This is my recreation of the noise in the background of a video shot on a consumer grade minidv camcorder (a well used one). I haven't had a minidv camcorder on hand for a few years and nobody i knew would give me a recording of just tape motor noise so i went to create the noise myself. This sound is a combination of a very badly pressed dvd in my computer's drive mixed with a tone made in audacity (up one octave from the tone that the disc ended up creating), all mixed down and brought down in volume. I know it's not a prefect recreation, but i don't have a minidv camcorder on hand so this is about as good as i can get it. If anyone has access to an anechoic chamber, a fresh tape, and a well used consumer grade minidv camcorder, please get in touch with me. I'd like the real deal better than my recreation that i did in my spare time. Note on recreating the noise out of hdv camcorders. They have slightly different hardware and as such will create different bearing noise (most times, there's an extra whine on top of the familiar bearing whine heard from standard dv camcorders). I forget the exact frequency, but it's somewhere in the neighborhood of 840hz-860hz and it's a sort of sine wave, but a modest bit more jagged. You'll have to provide your own stock camcorder mic hiss as each camcorder is different (not for definite sure on sony camcorders, but canon camcorders have a pink-ish white noise in about that era).
