This is the sound of a plasma cutting system. Recorded while cutting a big piece of metal scrap from 100 years ago. It was a machine used for textile works. And now, we are selling these scrap which makes me kind of sad. . . I wish i could put some pictures!.

A few lines from a one string phono fiddle. It is a very rare old instrument seldom found today. It is a single metal string, played with a horsehair bow. The sound is picked up through a phonogram diapraghm and then amplified through a brass horn. This is free for anyone to use as they wish.

The drums have some effects from fabfilter's "timeless" plugin, and also some distortion, but nothing too fancy. I stood on the platform at the montrose l station with a sony minidisc and recorded the entire process of a nyc subway train coming and going. Low noise, though you may wish to use a high-pass filter as there is so much bass in the material.

An ambient recording in may 2022 of a farm in rhinebeck, upstate new york. I wish i could name the animals that can be heard on here, there are all manner of frogs and birds in the area (blue jays, mockingbirds etc) alas i am not a native. There is a continuous whine throughout the recording which is a distant water pump - i suspect that, if desirable the frequency could be excluded with a bit of parametric eq.

The recorder (edirol r-09rh) was set in a very high building, therefore the sound consists mainly of ambient noise, eventually with subtle concrete sounds (birds, childs, dogs, sirens,. . . ). While the language spoken in the clip is slovak, it's impossible to pick out any indivdiual conversations, so this could be used as background noise in any project.
