A knijpkat is a flashlight that's manually driven (no batteries) by squeezing a handle attached to a dynamo inside the knijpkat. This is the sound it makes. 24bit 48khz, stereo, 2 x small membrane -> edirol r4.
The sound of a cicada can be deafening, but it can also be the perfect buzz to drown out the negative thinking in your head. It's loud, overpowering and sharp, and it's really weird that it comes from an insect.
Small tinggg going on for a while after sharp start. Recorded at home 26th of june 2014 with sharp md-sr50h(s)+ it's normal microphones, imported via analog (unfortunately*)into pc and saved with free software audacity. *please use some filter if you use this sound. . .
Two small blades sliding over each other. The sound is made by using two small kitchen knifes however, try pitching it down to -12 semitones and further for a sword-like sound. The noise of the recording is gated so it still comes through a little on the decay.
I used this sound set for the sound design on a 2d animated technology explainer video. These sounds are textural and real, which gives a nice contrast to slick graphics. Use these for text and thought bubbles, scene transitions, objects being built etc. Enjoy!.
