Recorded on samson q2u - the mic was behind the drum surface, and it was struck by my finger lightly on the other side, while being held at a wooden handle. There's some light paint on the drum surface, which may be made of synthetic (plastic?) material, and the rim is wire. It was a gift - unsure of its origins or nature, but it sounds cool.

This is full sequence of music-box in tea can with screweing up(?) until full stop. It's gift-set of tin box with tea and onboard music box. First i'm winding up music box, put box on the table, then it plays until full stop. This audio recorded with sony mobile communications audio recorder (android) on nexus 4 in pcm wav. Then it was slightly edited with audacity - tiny noise reduction and equalisation (boost frequencies below ~400 hz, lowered frequencies higher than ~2500 hz).

This is a seamless loop of a semi-rare instrument called the ukelin, out of tune and played incorrectly on purpose. It was given to me as a gift today and i had to sample this thing. This is before i tuned it, bowed across the strings you're expected to pluck and strumprocessed with dmg channel comp, voxengo elephant, internal daw eq, and valhalla room. These short files are random selections from a 9min composite audio file i put together from an accidental recording made when i left my sony camcorder on in my studio. They are part of the same series posted elsewhere on thefreesoundproject site titled "accidental recordist". There is some hiss/background noise which is part of the street front urban scene of my studio. There are two chimes - one low pitch constructed of four aluminium tubes and wooden clapper (gift) and the high pitch one of small stainless steel discs (purchased in maui from craft shop). I did some basic cleanup of low level background noise and applied plus one level of loudness using adobe soundbooth cs3 to get some clarity.

The office chair is a usual one with wheels and black, but been fixed and soldered and painted a lot for over 2 years (don't khow how long this chair was being used by the previous owner. To get the sound i just sit on it, put my phone on a tripod using the apk easy voice recorder pro by digipom, and then started moving with my feet trying for 30 minutes to get interesting sounds out of it, sometimes falling to get one continuous sound, but i never did that so my experience and technique is lacking also i dind't edit in audacity i just recorded send to email and uploaded here. The thing is that i got as a gift from a family friend and me and my dad soldered that thing probably 6 times to fix the sounds,pieces falling off, me geting in the ground after the entire base broked!( i wished i could show the picture in the center down of it) so before i went ahead to fix it again, i decided after talking to friends if i should record and upload, so here it is!. I hope is useful somehow to someone, now i can feel more at ease in repairing this chair again.

Forward with NOAA the NOAA Corps Song The "NOAA Corps Song" is actually entitled "Forward with NOAA." In 1987-88 the National Association of Commissioned Officers (ACO) was interested in commissioning a NOAA Song. Captain (then Commander) Steve Manzo was a member of the ACO Executive Board and volunteered to assist. Manzo contacted a long-time friend, Bob Arberg. Bob's father, Bud Arberg, had actually written the music and words to the "Army Song" -- while assigned to the Adjutant General's Staff during World War II. Dr. Arberg (former Princeton graduate in music) was retired and he readily volunteered to write a song. Dr. Arberg was provided reference materials on the NOAA Corps. He recognized at the outset that this was an attempt to build NOAA Corps morale and he cautioned that buy-in/acceptance within the Corps would not be easy. The song was first presented at a National ACO Dining-In in either 1988 or 89. Secretary of Commerce William Verity was present, as were both Bud and Bob Arberg. Bud Arberg played the piano and performed the "NOAA Song" to the assembled group of 150 officers and guests. Upon completing the NOAA Song, Secretary Verity graciously presented Dr. Arberg with a small gift of thanks on behalf of DOC/NOAA/NOAA Corps. The music was arranged by the USAF Band.
