A very brief combat zone background clip. It was made to be played very low in the background, just to support the foreground action of a short transitional scene. So there is not a lot of in-your-face action. Mostly a rolling rumble to represent distant off screen elements, and mid-distant small arms fire.

A typical summer soundscape on the bank of the ohio river in southern illinois. The low, drone of a huge barge can been heard. Also, the higher-frequency insects are also heard from time to time. Sound recorded on saturday july 28th, 2018 at 2:00pm using the sound devices 702 and the audio technica bp4025 stereo microphone.

Basically layered a 200hz snare body, similar to a 909, low-passed and saturated. Added in a transient sound, then a certain impact sound that you wouldn't expect, layered together with some high end white noise, compressed, then used a transient shaper for that final touch.

The recording device used was my computer windows xp with a very low-end microphone. I downloaded a free audacity recording program.

This is a bass sound, not tuned but it is a perfect loop withouth clicks. It has no panning effect - i will do that on another sample. It is not tuned - use a program that tunes the samples to tonal. You must use it only in one octave from c5 to c6. In other octaves sounds not like a normal bass.

This is a recording of the bat colony, or roost, that is situated in the centre of bellingen new south wales australia. The roost is next to the bellingen river in on of the last remaining patches of low altitude rainforest in the region. Recorded using tascam pro dat with akg ck 98 shotgun microphone with p12-48 pre-amp, also known as akg se300b.

A close up recording of an overheating usb slot-loading cd/dvd drive that repeatedly tries to spin up, but fails and makes some clicking noises. Note on low frequency sounds: i recorded this with a zoom h1n recorder at about 2cm distance from the drive slot. I held the recorder in my hand and rested my hand on the surface the cd drive was resting on, so there is somewhat of a mechanical connection between the drive's vibrations and the recorder. I believe this led to the low frequency parts of the recording. About halfway through the recording, i lifted the drive up with my other hand and held it at a 30degree angle to the surface and recorder. As you can hear in the recording, this made it spin up a little longer before failing and spinning back down.

This recording was made on a warm, clear day in early june right on the sandy bank of the mississippi river -- between illinois and missouri. You hear the low, strong surge of the diesel engines as a barge slowly passes through and, what i find most enjoyable, you hear the gentle lapping of the river as the waves reach the sandy shore. You also hear various birds, including the common red-winged blackbird. Even though this recording was made around 3pm in the afternoon, you also hear a low chorus of insects adding to the relaxing summer-like ambience.
