Series of sounds produced by opening a window to a pattering rain: first the heavy wooden blinds being cranked open and lifted, then the metal latch being turned, the wood-frame window itself opened and its counterweight clanging in the wall, then the storm or screen window being lifted and popping into place.

Sitting on an outdoor paris cafe terrace some buskers started up across the road. The wind cooperated and i got this nice blend of chatting cafe sounds, passers by walking on the sidewalk, vehicles and a little of the popular desmond/brubek number 'take five' in the background. A very pleasant beer that was.

In 's-hertogenbosch in holland we have carnival every year. This is a recording in the centre of the city. A recording of several 'dweilorkesten' that is a band that plays musing in the street. 'literal' translation is 'mop band or mopping band'. The go trough the streets like someone mopping the floor. This recording at the market-place is made with hundreds of people around. The ambience here is totally different from other places in the town and the world. It complete different than the south american carnival. Recorded: march 7th 2011, markt, 's-hertogenbosch, holland. It's a sound of a polish carrefour crowded supermarket (złote tarasy, warsaw, poland). There are ventilation fans audible, people's footsteps, cash registers beeping, shopping baskets, unified queue automated director speaking "kasa numer 6, kasa numer 10" etc. Recorded with zoom h2.
