Here, i tried to represent the rain with a thunderstorm in the background, a sound that can be used in a thriller, drama or other movies. To the sound of the rain i generated "white noise", amplitude to 1. Then, i changed the acute and bass across the track to show some instability of the rain. To highlight the suddenness of the rain, i put a fade in during the first 5 seconds with a reverberation from 6 to 50s to make a natural sound. Finally, i added a track recorded of a storm with -9db for the storm and + 11db for the rain.

This realistic. Wav storm includes a mix of ambiance effects, back ground effects and other urban environment effects. This wav file was generated from gold wave, using a bunch of effects off of other projects that i had going. (ambiance effects recorded from riverside, pennsylvania. ).

Just a simple recording of some water flowing through a sewer drain. Some nice running water sfx that could be used as a positional sewer loop in a game, or as part of ambient bed.

A rainstorm battering against the windows and roof of a conservatory with water dripping from a leak in the roof. Recorded on a zoom h4n.

More rain and distant thunder recorded from an open window. I recorded it with an optimus tape deck and an old microphone (the tape i recorded it on was a maxell ur), i then used audacity and the same tape deck to convert it to digital. I was recording wind that blows in my window, but the zoom h2 placed on a (cheap) mic stand after some time started to bend itself downwards. It hit the curtain/drape in my window and rubbed itself against it until reached the lowest position - the mic stands arm stopped gently as it started. This produced a very interesting sound that i totally didn't expect to find on the recording. Edited with audacity.

Recording of wind and rain in a storm in south uk, 28th oct 2013. Wind can be heard blowing through nearby woods and leaves rustling. Dripping of rain from the eves of the house. Mostly white noise hissing with volume rising and falling. Recorded using a canon d550 out the window/door. The files were edited to remove wind when it directly blows on the microphone.

Thunderstorm aftermath. Sounds of a thunderstorm about 10 minutes after it left the area. So low rumbles and rain dripping. The sound was recorded using a yamaha audiogram6 connected to a radioshack brand vocal microphone. Sampling was done at 44,100hz and the data was recorded using audacity. I recorded everything as a wav file and then uploaded it the same.

A storm recorded with the window open - hailstones hitting the window. Lots of rain and water noises, loud thunder and a couple of firetrucks which are speeding of with sirens. The firestation is right next to my appartement.

Recording during a strong autumn storm, with heavy rain, in a large garden, surrounded by big pine trees. The wind was so strong, that i had a fear that one of the branches of the pines could snap and fall on me. The recording is a 32bit float, 48khz ms-stereo one, made with a sennheiser mkh 416, and ambient ate 308 emesser figure of eight, in a røde blimp with fur cover. I was amazed that the blimp did its job this good in this strong wind.
