This wav file is a take-away from a midi track my current project. The vst instrument is 4front e-piano and it's free! - the root key is g major, starting off in the piano roll at g3. The bottom drops to g2 and uses heavy steps, separated by a key to reach g2. Going back up to g3, the notes are shortened and no keys are skipped. Hence the fairytale stares ascents. The ceiling above g3 is g5. So 1 octave down, 2 up. The tight stairstep is maintained above g3. There is just downward notes to keep it sounding like a saw form. The entire sound should be in-key and loopable. Each of the 16 bars is unique. I didn't just copy and paste the same notes several times. - my next step is to apply a different midi sound. Early spring thunderstorm in north central oklahoma recorded on 05/02/2018 starting at about 9:30 pm cdt. Recorded in the middle of the country by placing a mic outside the man cave window of my house. The storm starts with light rain and some medium distance thunder. At about 4:00 mins the wind starts to pick up and by 5 mins the wind sound drowns out everything else (50-60 mph gusts). By 6:00 mins the wind is fading as the storm front passes. By 9:00 mins it’s just soft rain and occasional thunder. At about 13:00 mins, the thunder starts picking up a bit. At about 17:00 mins it starts raining harder again, with occasional thunder, until the end. A couple of human noises were edited out, and noise reduction was applied.

A unique sound i recorded in bangkok whilst standing on a floating pier waiting for a boat. The pier is made of metal and the sound produced is the empty steel pier rubbing against the pylons with each wave of the river. You can also hear a boat motor as a ferry pulls up to the pier. This sound is a katana sword being swung close to the microphone it was recorded in a gym. It was recorded using a zoom h1 with foam windscreen attached. The clip was cleaned up (removed air condition sound) in adobe audition cs6. You can hear some handling of the sword at some points. Some swings have a higher pitch than others but this is the real thing.

Found a big bush covered in white flowers with loads of bees buzzing all over it. Some good buzz noises here but unfortunately quite a bit of mic handling noise and the sound of the leaves brushing against the mic as i pushed it in close to try and stir up the bees a bit. The beach is a mixture of sand and stone, with stones being piled up further from the sea and soft sand with some stones at the edge of the water. The movement of stones can be heard, as can a young child and others. This was recorded with a sennheiser me66/k6 attached to a zoom h5. No editing.

A nice & sunny recording session at the airport! positioned right at the flight path of departing planes, this served as a test recording for the tascam dr-40x. At some point during the session i decided to point the recorder straight up, instead of towards the planes themselves, creating a nice stereo "pass-by" effect.

Tying shoelaces: a close-up listen to a very subtle sound when two pieces of string is being tied around each other. You can hear the fumbling of hands swooshing the string around each other and a harder sound of when the knot is being pulled so that it doesn't come loose. I walk from a solid wood floor to a corridor, up a short flight of stairs to another room with a laminated wood floor, then back to the first room. The ambiance changes slightly in the different rooms. I used an sm58 and an irig pro on an ipad using garageband and mastered in cubase.
