A recording of an air rifle being shot in a valley. Recorded on a zoom h4n pro about 5-10 metres in front of the barrel, facing away from the rifle. Edited in audacity. I love the crackle as the shot breaks the sound barrier. Could be slowed down to make it sound like a larger weapon, or maybe even used as an impulse response. A neighbor of mine might have just peed in his pants if he couldn't shoot off his illegal commercial fireworks before the fourth. So, july first, his manly outpouring of window-rattling bomb blasts echoed across an entire valley. For nearly two hours. I like fireworks. When i go to see 'em. Not so much when i can't get away from them. Sure, i could have gone shopping, or out for a drink. I recorded it instead. This particular explosion is just the largest of those that came after i started recording. It's just a lowly iphone but it does pretty well. Admittedly, even with no amplification it might have been too much for the microphone. You have the clear launch sound followed by burst and echo. The same blast kicks off the other fireworks file i am uploading.

Recorded while walking on a vietnamese village road past a lamp post with a loudspeaker attached on it. Metallic, echoing sound of the radio with speech in vietnamese language. A motorbike is passing by, a dog barks a few times, sound of wood being chopped, sound of tropical birds. Slight sound of footsteps.

Explosion sound created using a zoom h1 and tempering with metal fibers near the mic capsules. Added verb and pop compression for better flexibility. I cut out some parts of the "badoink audacity base loop" (id:540779) and did my best to make a simple song using only audacity. It wasn't easy lol, i used several effects from audacity itself: reverb, echo, pluck, distortion, equalization, amplify, change speed, change pitch and tone generator. The end result is not a masterpiece, but it was nice to participate in this challenge, thanks badoink.

Quick flourishes of synth keys going up and down the pentatonic scale. Synth used was the korg ms 20 mini, analogue and monophonic. Subtle filtering and echo was placed on the recordings, as well as some reversing.

Snare drum recorded stereo in shower close miked with sony pcm-d50. These are very bright. You might need to reduce the high frequencies.

This is a nice clean recording of hard-rubber soled shoes running and walking up and down metal stairs in a concrete stairwell. It's reverberant, but clean. I hope it's useful to somebody.
