Droning sounds created by rubbing a string against my acoustic guitar in an open tuning. There's some plucking at the end but that's kind of random. I figured i should start uploading some of the more interesting things i have since i've used a lot of material from this website without really contributing to it at all.

Dartington crystal wine glass struck with a rubber headed mallet on the rim. Recorded at home on may 5, 2014 at 11. 30 p. M. Equipment used: zoom h2 handy digital recorder, front mics, wav recording 24 bit 48khz at 60 cm from glass (small room) imported as mp3.

This is a really simple beat is based off the beat from a remix of "happiness in slavery" by nine inch nails. I used all my own sounds though. The snare was created by filtering white noise, and adding distortion, then adding an acoustic snare sound over it. Really good for heavy industrial songs.

I recorded these samples after recording a loop of the famous think beat. I used mapex big rock kick and toms and a mapex daisycutter snare along with zultan 15" raw hihat and a zultan 20" dark matter crash.

Field-recording for kadenze course introduction to sound and acoustic sketching. Recorded using zoom h4n, 16 bit, 44. 1 khz. Trimmed, normalized and faded in and out. Also slightly low-shelf filtered to remove excessive wind noise. Recording made in city park in ottawa, feb. 17, 2017. Sounds include bird calls and snow-removal equipment.

Here's a low volume, low frequency noise recorded during an acoustic survey of a condominium to identify a sleep-disturbing noise. It is primarily a combination of 13, 18 and 23 hz (5 hz steps). Not audible on computer speakers, it should be listened to on closed back headphones or very good quality sound system.

12 closed hihat hits recorded in a reverberant bathroom. The hihat was recorded with a three microphone setup with a close mic mono and a wide-stereo overhead version of each sample. See my other packs for matching drum samples. More are on the way if anyone finds these usable.

A seven note scale (c c# d# f f# g# a#) over separate octaves. Some notes repeat in the same octave, but are slightly different samples. Each note starts on the grid of 100bpm. Recorded the samples a few years ago. From memory the original sounds are sections of acoustic guitar notes, manipulated, pitched and fx added.

Recordings of a home made instrument of david bithells called sun ra, recordings by ali momeni. Instrument is made of metal springs extending from a large calabash shell; recordings made with a pair of earthworks mics, and a number k&k; contact microphones, mixed down to stereo. Dynamics are indicated by pp (soft) to ff (loud); name indicates action recorded.

It's a recording of a walkman playing a compact cassete (shut in a drawer for acoustic isolation). It's there, just really quiet. The recording is raw (unprocessed). You can hear the motor working as the tape plays, and then it buzzing as the tape finished. Recorded with zoom h2. Edited and normalized with audacity.

In this piece, the recording of an acoustic guitar was made,with the technique of listening with one ear from several points and distances, since, as we saw in course 2, doing that is like listening to the way in which the microphone picks up the sound; and that is the specific point where the microphone must be. I like to put special attention into not only the sounds and rhythms used in my work, but also the shape of the tracks itself when looked at in an audio editor. I enjoy working with dc-offsetted sounds, as i believe that, although there is not much of a difference when listened to, they must be picked up differently somehow by the brain.

Samsara ekd was used for the kick, sent through eq and a couple of distortion plugins. Black noh snare was used for the snare, with a resonator and reverb placed on top of it, as well as eq and compression. Hcx was used for the hihats, with one eq plugin placed on it. The master channel got brickwalled (or bricked) using compressivecm vst.

A tune i did on acoustic guitar to something called victors crypt. Did it on a four track recorder on my phone. I had the idea in my head that it would fit perfectly with strings.
