Okay, i actually did make a rather horrorific sound, despite my slight dislike for the horror genre. I know. I contradict myself. Anyhow, this is actually the sound of me going up an escalator while i was at a conference. I came home later and didn't know what to do with the sound, so, out of boredom, i made this. By the way, that weird shriek at 1'46" was actually a young child who was running around somewhere in the building. This sound could be used for *contradiction!!* an atmosphere for a horror game or something like that. But don't try to make me play it, because i won't! okay, well maybe. Mangled with ableton live.

It is recorded in the hallway of practice rooms in mib. We can hear the sound of cello and flute.

Synthesizer ambience with glitchy electronic sounds as rhythm. I used mostly nexus vst and lots of freeware ambient effects in the mix. Old file from 2011 i discovered in my files :-).

I set my zoom h4n on my kitchen counter, turned the record volume up to 100%, and walked out of the room. There's slight noise from the window and my refrigerator.

This is the ambience of a normal working day. As you can hear, there is normal things happening. Like a telephone going off, writing, typing and all that other stuff that you would probably hear on a normal basis. Actually. . . More like a stereotype.

Some birds recorded in stereo in the woods near my house. It is some low frequent sounds in background but you can just send it through an equalizer with a highpass-filter and then get rid of it.

This was created with paul's extreme sound stretch program, my voice, and audacity. I whispered a couple of times into the microphone and slowed it down a good bit in paul's stretch program. I think the result is pretty creepy! leave a comment and let me know if you plan on using this!. Edit -- 8/23/10 -- whoa, did not know that the file size was so big. Created with a doepfer a-100 modular synthesizer sequenced by a korg sq-1 processed by a zoom multistomp ms-70cdr guitar multi-fx pedal, using the particle and hd reverb. Audio source is a self-resonating, modulated doepfer a-108 vcf8. The reverbs ran in series. The manual states that the particle reverb is based on the line6 m9 particle verb. A processed electric ambiance that might work well in a horror film.

This use to be a song i was trying to write. . . I failed miserably at the song but played around with some ambiance i created by accident and turned it into a piece or sound design instead. Good for a scene change in a horror film i suppose.

This is a recording taken out my bedroom window early in the morning. You will hear doves, mynah birds, shama thrushes (the beautiful warbly one) and of course our "beloved" wild chickens.

Pretty much i recorded this outside of my house in michigan. I recorded 4 seconds and copy and paste, so it is about 8 seconds. The first section is played normally then i copied it and made it play reversed. This sound is loopable and free to use.
