A la Nanita Nana, is an eighteenth-century Spanish Christmas carol here performed by the chorus of U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own", led by Colonel Thomas Rotondi, Jr. (Leader & Commander) and CSM Debra L. McGarity (Command Sergeant Major) c. 2010. It is done bilingually, first in Spanish, then in English. The English translation appears to have been done in house by the Army, as I can find no evidence of any other usage. CSM Debra L. McGarity Modifications Levels adjustment - a basic linear tweak, with the lower notes being slightly quieter and the higher notes slightly louder. Also removed a slight tapping noise in the beginning, before the singing starts.

This sound is a mix of analog sound and digitally created sound. I recorded the sound of a coffee machine. Then on audacity, i generated a tone and modified its envelope. I changed the levels, added effects as reverberation and echo. I put melted at opening and closing in purpose to pretend something was taking off and landing. At first i wanted to create the atmosphere of a spaceship. But after that it looked more like a vacuum noise. I tried to modify amplification and added again echo and reverberation to make it sound more like a weird ufo. Warning: careful when listening, it gets loud!. July 4th. Recorded in the midwest usa, where we adore our explosives. The omnis on my humble dr-05 did a pretty good job capturing the sheer depth of zillions of people blowing stuff up together :-). You’ll hear: people having a party in the distance, a bonfire crackling on the right, a distant train blowing its whistle, and of course a lot of explosions. A couple of the big bangs clipped, but unsurprisingly, it made no audible difference. I reduced to 48khz, 24 bit and normalized to -3. 0 db. It really wakes up when you apply some eq to your liking. But i left it as is for everybody.

An excerpt from some in-car driving recordings i made with the windows wound down. My starting point is geotagged. I first turn right out of trail ridge court in streamwood, il, then wait to turn left at the intersection of schaumburg road and south sutton road. I then head north on il route 59. The car is a 1996 chrysler lhs 3. 5l v6 (note the recognizable sound of the creaky chrysler transmission as i slow to a stop). My recording setup was two audio technica at851a boundary mics, mounted upside down on the interior roof and facing out of the driver and passenger windows (with appropriate wind protection), running through a mixer into a zoom h4.

Alien xxx sent me a “cross modulation challenge”. I have tried to be true to his idea, but added automation, so to speak. Oscillator1 is constantly fm-modulating oscillator2. I vary the frequency of oscillator1 with an lfo. The output of oscillator1 is sent to a) left audio channel and b) in to oscillator2. The output of oscillator2 is fed to oscillator1. The degree of cross fm modulation is controlled by a vca controlled by another lfo. The output of oscillator2 is also sent to right audio channel. As i’m writing this i have just made a theoretical patch on a piece of paper. The result is what you hear. No effects added. Straight out of the modular for better or worse.

An ambient, white noise wall of sound recorded as i walked through our well ventilated university print shop. You can hear a variety of machine noises that layer to create a constant hum, with a swelling rise and fall like occasional waves. Some of the vents whistle, some tick or click and purr. Near the very end, there is a single sharp click. The ventilation system is an anti-fume tube series used for printmaking. Recorded on a microtrack ii. General information: recorded indoors on handheld microtrack while walking from room to room. No noticeable footstep sounds. No voices. Room has high ceilings and cement floors.

A very typical sound-scape of an open field, bordered by the large shawnee national forest. A warm day in june, with a lot of birds, and, if you listen to the higher frequencies, in the background always there, are the ever-present insects. Recorded in june 2009 around 11:00 in the morning. Tempurature was about 78 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. This is also interesting in that it shows how, early in the summer, the bird vocalizations often are louder than the insects, but, as the summer goes on, this is reversed. . Listen to my insect recording from july and you'll see/hear what i mean. Equipment used: zoom h4n recorder, using the internal built-in microphones.

How easy it should have been creating cool rhythms for the drums with a digitalclock generator or having a nice wave table oscillator etc. . . . (wikipedia) the european nightjar (caprimulgus europaeus), common goatsucker, eurasian nightjar or just nightjar, is a crepuscular and nocturnal bird in the nightjar family that breeds across most of europe and temperate asia. The latin generic name refers to the old myth that the nocturnal nightjar suckled goats, causing them to cease to give milk. The six subspecies differ clinally, the birds becoming smaller and paler towards the east of the range. All populations are migratory, wintering in sub-saharan africa. Their densely patterned grey and brown plumage makes individuals difficult to see in the daytime when they rest on the ground or perch motionless along a branch, although the male shows white patches in the wings and tail as he flies at night.

A soft and subtle, unedited sound recording from my studio in leeds. On the top floor of my terraced house, i have a large window that opens out onto a quiet street in north leeds. A school is nearby, so there are some elements of children screaming, but overall you get a nice wash of bird song, quiet car sounds and mild wind. This recording would be excellent for atmospheric sound for film, tv or whatever else. Feel free to use this sample and contact me if you want some extended recordings as i'm planning on recording a few more field studies from my area, which is lovely and removed from the main city.

Sparrows flying from branch to branch in a bare rose bush. Unintentional capture of sound as i was just out walking testing new equipment. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. A suspenseful riser made from a wet mix of a rate-shifted bed frame being hitted and reversed after it has been "glued" or rendered as is, producing a deep, "mega-marvin" similar sample. A sample that was created from utilizing chromatic tones, stretching, reverb and the use of the wet/dry filtering to get the mix "just right". If you aren't aware of what the mega-marvin is. Mega-marvins are essentially instruments containing extremely heavy string, woodwind and varying density of materials that generate strong noises, trailing ambiances and brass-like sound qualities quite suited to the horror genre, generating a daunting and sorrowful sounds. Very fascinating stuff, look it up if you can - they're big and quite technical.

Collection of different human voices introducing original nitrate optical sound effects made for hollywood in the 1930s and 40s as digitized by craig smith. Sound effects extracted, these are mostly only the intro voices except for some small overlaps or tails. Sometimes it cuts off or on in the middle of a word but that's just what was available in the optical soundtracks. I plan to use these for a film but thought it might be fun for others to play with. Splice markers added in reaper, optimized for the make noise morphagene tape and microsound synthesizer, just rename the file to mg1 etc. , morphagene’s file-naming convention (but of course you don’t at all need the morphagene to use these).

The sound of a construction worker operating a concrete road saw on a rainy day is heard in this recording. The recording begins with the saw already in operation, then is shut off and shortly restarted. He makes a couple of passes on the section of road he is working on and turns the machine off. A nearby siren is also heard at the end, so the shutdown at the head can be used as an alternative. Gear: zoom h6, xyh-6 x/y capsule (120 degree stereo image), rycote windjammer. This lovely little toy piano has been a member of my parent’s home since before i can remember. These days it falls under the jurisdiction of my 4-year old niece, who was ever so kind as to allow me to record it!. It has a fabulous tinkling and out-of-tune carnival sort of sound, and i wanted to capture that before the piano was destroyed altogether. I have editing the original recordings and built a kontakt instrument with them, available for free on my website at www. Framingnoise. Com. This is the sound of a spaceship's underbelly cargo hatch closing mid-flight after receiving a cargo transfer. The sequence begins with a warning alarm indicating the hatch closing, followed by the sound of the giant servos rotating the dual bay doors up and inward until the bay is sealed shut and locked. An all clear signal is given, reverberating into the dark, silent chamber. Made in logic pro, completely synthesized with es2 and mac's built in speech synthesis for vocal alarm. No unoriginal samples or sounds were used in the creation of this sound. Use freely as desired, but i would appreciate credit.

In broekhuizen, near arcen, lies the old ferry named grubbenvorst, dying on the river maas. It has been replaced by a newer one. The old one lies rotting away some hundred metres away from its old trajectory. It was very windy that day and the carcass of the ship was mildly rocking back and forth resulting in this beautiful creaking. The occasional thud is the boat hitting the construction it is lying in. This recording was made with a zoom h2n on 4 channel mode. It was then further edited and processed using reaper. It was recorded on april 3rd 2018. The zoom was protected by a rycote windshield and my own cap as an extra windbreaker.

In front of my desk in my room is a wood paneled wall with a cubbie. It's about a foot wide, 10 inches from top to bottom and maybe 7 inches deep. I'm just guessing. Around this cubbie is a border of wood. In the bottom right corner under the border i have jammed one end of an elastic string that used to have glitter on it. It's from a christmas box of chocolates my uncle sent me last year. I stand in front of this cubbie whose bottom is at chin height, (i'm only 5ft1in) so my arms are above my head as i pull this string across the cubbie to the border on the left which acts as my only fret. The string is a few inches longer than the cubbie is wide, but when i pull it it gets longer so my hand is 3/4 along it's length as i pull back and forth across the border to tighten and loosen the string. No matter how hard i pull it never pops loose from it's mooring. The recording starts with me standing up from my chair. In the first part until 01:54 i am playing the string at maybe 30° from horizontal. It has a buzzy quality that reminds me of an african folk instrument i can't remember the name of. From 01:33 to 01:54 i'm trying to imitate a korean folk vibrato kind of thing. In the second part until 02:29 i am playing 45 to 60° from horizontal and it sounds like a full-bodied string bass with no buzz. In the last part beginning at 02:34 i am playing about 75° from horizontal across the top border of the cubbie on the left so it sounds buzzy and african again, and i'm just going crazy goofing around with a crazy bluesy rock sort of rhythm. There didn't seem to be any homemade 1-stringed wall-cubbie basses on this site so here is mine, have fun. I don't play it if mom is home because the living room is on the other side of the wall and she can't hear tv. Also my neighbor can probably hear it in the next apartment lol. Recorded with microsoft lifecam 3000.

Ringmodulated inversion of my speech from the file https://freesound. Org/people/kb7clx/sounds/648443/ invertedspeechcq. Wav. I took the raw recording and used goldwave's mechanize effect to translate my voice to a center frequency of 14khz. I then demodulated it first at 10. 6 and then 10. 2khz meaning that what comes out is essentially the opposite sideband, offset by 3. 4 and 3. 8khz respectively. 3khz just didn't sound as good. The first i filtered with a low pass of 2. 9khz, the second was filtered to below 3. 4khz to emulate a communications receiver passband. I am speaking upside down as described in this video. Being blind i can't see their diagram, but i've got my own by ear intuitive method, keeping in mind that oo and ee are farthest from each other, all other vowells get closer the closer they are to the middle of the human voice frequency range. I say: huhlay sue quee, sue quee, sue quee do ux. Cahlloong sue quee sue quee sue quee do ux. The ay in huhllay is like when a spanish speaker says béisbol (baseball). The a in cahlloong is like the a in cat if you're opening wide for the doctor. The oo is like the oo in book. Listen to the other file and you'll hear: hello cq cq cq dx. Calling cq cq cq dx.

While working on another audiobook, i decided to make this sound. It's 38 voices, each saying different things, panned around and mixed together, creating a "wall of sound" that speaks like 38 radio channels at once. Recorded with a zoom h2 via usb into ardour2. Mixed and exported to flac with ardour2. Ps: it's all polish (with some possible german shout-outs), but the amount of noise makes it almost completely incomprehensible. Only a few words that are being yelled in a different voice can be understood. No sound repeats here, no recycling - every voice and every second of this recording is unique. Yes, it required quite a lot of work to record so much talking in quality! it's almost an entire audiobook squeezed into 5 minutes. Strangely (or not) listening to this makes my mind rest, because the noise blocks all other sounds from the environment - making my mind free of stimulation, allowing for sleep-like rest state. The signal is so much modulated that it appears to be not modulated at all - like static you get from a fm radio of you tune it wrong. The brain receives less data when you listen to this, than when you sit in a room hearing even faint (but distinct) noises from outside, other rooms, other people or yourself. This is sound masking in action. A very interesting psychoacoustic property of human hearing. Also: this is an interesting material to study of my voice's spectral energy distribution while speaking (as opposed to singing). As you can see using the spectrogram view, most energy is present in the band below 600 hz.
