Thunderstorm aftermath. Sounds of a thunderstorm about 10 minutes after it left the area. So low rumbles and rain dripping. This is a bass kick i made with a nice crunchy toned delay. It started life as a mono bass kick off my 808 drum machine, i converted it to stereo then inverted the right channel, i distorted it and processed it with 100% envelope to really boost the front end punch. It's c2 pitch for convenience.

These samples come from a gakken sx-150, a small analogue synthesizer kit that was released in japan 2008 as part of the gakken hobby magazine series. The synth became very popular also outside of japan, mainly because it's a low-cost analogue synth with a great sound that offers lots of possibilities for circuit benders.

Sounds like the uplift to the drop of an edm track, but can also be used as a firework sound effect, or for a bomb dropping. Created using a low-passed square wave, over-compressing it, distorting it, playing 2 notes a semitone apart and pitch shifting.

Effects used: behringer micro-mixer (used here as a "clean boost/volume effect), sirkut electronics gnarler, danelectro eq, boss xtortion, and boss metal zone, with various other fx sprinkled throughout. I used a pair of soundman okm2 mics as contact microphones which i fixed to the surface of a frozen lake, then recorded the sounds made by throwing or skimming several stones and pebbles across the ice. Wonderful effects can also be achieved by filtering or timestretching the files.

For this recording, i was sitting in my car under a large tree. With a rain storm having just passed, the tree was dripping large droplets, creating a consistent rhythm as they hit the roof of the car. This was recorded using a tascam dr-05x in june, 2020.
