bruxxing is when a rodent grinds its teeth. Sometimes it can be quite loud. It may seem like a sign of aggression, but it's actually their way of showing they are content. My boys will often brux for lengths of time, but unfortunately i could only catch this little bit. Also, they do this thing called "boggling," which is when their eyes seem to be popping from their sockets. As strange as it looks, it means they're really happy.

I found this wonderful 4 foot high waterfall in a small canyon in the shawnee national forest in southern illinois. The cool splashing of the rivulet as it spilled out onto a catch-pool was enhanced by the echo as the sound bounced off the 3-sided grotto. This is a great clear and loud recording of a cat purring for an extended period of time with no obtrusive noises in background. Rip pozzo, whom the purr belongs to. He was a very affectionate cat and purred if you so much as stared at him. Happened to catch this sound one night while alone at home with the cat. Wild parrots started flying in and landing on the trees along mission bay in san diego on a cool, cloudy day. I walk around and catch some individuals and groups. Sometimes they fly overhead. I did my best to minimize footstep sounds and wind noise. Mostly, i did a good job of that. No. 2 at about 2:35 there's a nice group after a long silence, so don't quit beforehand. When i was walking around today to catch sounds, i met a man who was mowing his lawn. I asked him if i could record him while he was mowing his lawn. He agreed and i was allowed to record him mowing. It's a viking electric lawnmower. Description: a man mows the lawn with an electric lawnmower. He drives the lawn mower over a piece of path to the meadow, mows and drives the lawn mower back. At the beginning of the recording, there is a short question asked if he should start now, which i confirm. The recording is unedited.
