Charleston, sc airport. While waiting a few hours to board my flight home to chicago, i heard this security announcement a dozen times and decided to record it with my olympus ls-10.

Playing soccer in the backyard as a few birds chirp and jets head for the airport in the evening.

After reaching 10,000ft, the in-flight instructions come over the intercom, spoken by an on-board flight-attendant. The flight is a commercial airliner in route to chicago-midland airport from denver.

Warm spring morning at the 'magic hedge' former nike anti-missile site on chicago's lakefront turned bird sanctuary. Several varieties of birds chirping and some rush hour traffic from lake shore drive.

Standing on the east side of michigan avenue near ontario street, chicago, 7/16/16 at 10:07pm. Lots of passing traffic, squealing brakes, distant voices, distant sirens. A busker in the middle distance is playing his recognizable clarinet licks. Around 3:14 a group of motorcycle riders pass revving their engines. Edited to remove potentially copyright infringing music (captured playing out of passing cars and motorbikes). Recorded with two countryman emw lavaliers in a head-mounted binaural arrangement, into a tascam dr-40 recorder. Processed to remove excessive bass rumble and compensate for eq curve of lavaliers.

A medium sized crowd sings the star spangled banner, then cheers and applauds. Didn't record the whole song unfortunately, but i got the good parts. Recorded in chicago with a sony pcm-d50.

After recording trains crossing the adjacent tracks i turned the microphones southwest towards the intersection of harrison and wabash. Traffic was heavy and drivers were frequently blowing their horns at each other. A couple of vehicles playing loud music stop at the light. Time of recording was 5:57pm. Weather was warm, in the 80s. This is the ambient noise of a hotel room in the embassy suites in chicago, il. You will hear the general room noise (air conditioner, etc. ) as well as the city atmospherics outside the room (air brakes on trucks, horns honking, etc. ) recorded with the ever-trusty zoom h4n.

This was recorded in chicago suburb of highland park. What you are hearing is the sound of the streets during the middle of the day. This recording was taken with the person recording familiar with the area. After listening back, the person recording heard several new sounds that were unfamiliar.

This recording is from highland park, a chicago suburb. A few things you'll hear is the sounds of birds chirping and drops of water hitting a puddle. The water was coming from a gutter and dropping water, one drop at a time, from roughly 15ft. The puddle was roughly 2 inches in depth.

Not a particular city, like paris or chicago, but the events of the dream happen in a setting which includes tall buildings and crowded streets and views of the sun setting behind a busy skyline. One time, while having such a dream, i was standing on an arcing bridge over a body of water like a river or canal. The late afternoon sun was to my left, and the warmth of the sunlight contrasted with the cool breeze off the water. As i looked across the curving expanse of water, i was mesmerized by the bright reflections of the sun on the water, on the glass of the windows, across this expansive space. I realized with a start that i recognized a cluster of buildings across the way. I had seen them before, in another dream. In that dream i had been a different person.
