He separates the calves from their mothers. They are on opposite sides of a fence. The fence is a single electric wire. The mothers and their calves are inches from each other but not in the same field. It makes me so sad to hear them in such distress but they seem to get over it in a few days.

Recorded using jez riley french contact microphones, on a windy day on the south coast of england. I connected a pair of contact microphones to different parts of a metal fence and let the wind do the rest. Starts off gently and gradually the intensity increases as the wind picks up. You can hear the fence rattling and a ambient drone of the wind blowing.

This is a field recording taken in a suburban location in the city of cincinnati just over ten minutes in length. Stereo ambience of people passing by at the kulturforum in berlin. This is a large open concrete space next to the berlin philharmonic hall. It's a warm summer evening and the berlin philharmonics have just finished an open air concert. The recording starts about 15 minutes after the end of the concert while everyone is leaving the place, maybe about 1000-1500 people. The crowd is generally in a happy and talkative mood. There are lots of international folks and tourists, so you'll not only hear german, but also english and lots of other languages. After six minutes or so there is also a police siren in the background. Recorded with a zoom h6 (xy mics). In the same pack there is also a second recording starting directly at the end of the concert with people applauding. It is can be found here.

2:21 field recording of exterior daytime environmental windy day in an exposed lincolnshire countryside location, but with mics partially shielded inside a bus-shelter for less in your face perspective. Recorded with a balanced stereo pair of mics and edited to remove intrusions.

Many find the sound of a prop-plane flying lazily very peaceful --- especially if it is a late summer day against a blue sky on the edge of a forest. Even though i was actually on an outing to record the birds of the deep forest in summer, this plane came right overhead and, well, here it is. The ocassional soft chirp of the birds adds a nice touch. Recorded with my zoom h4n recorder with the internal microphones set on an input volume of 75.

Some migrating geese fly directly overhead, going from the left to the right side of the stereo field. You can hear the doppler shift as they pass. Songbirds sing in the background.
