Jen pianotone 600 was an electronic piano from the late 70s. Vox built a same-sounding instrument. Presets: bass, piano and harpsichord. It had five octaves and no touch sensivity. I sampled the pianovoice.

Around 2010, i circuit-bent a motorola cellphone and added a control surface to control the bends. Then i added an atari paddlewheel so its big potentiometer could be used to do pitchbends, and the result is an instrument i called the "sonic electronic ball breaker". It's got knives, quarterstaves, thor's lightning, sharp sticks, nuclear machineshotguns, and even some claws that come out to jab 'em. In this sample i'm going through and playing with the controls to see what i get. These sounds are pretty abrasive, but they work well when run through a bunch of effects.

Super useful electronic chords. The omnichord is a true classic. The only catch is you have to chop them yourself. I just load them into a beat slicer and go to town :). Also sounds amazing with distortion!.

A set of two types of beep. A singular beep, and then a double-note beep. Either one could be used on their own, or they can be combined to create abnormal patterns. These beeps can be used for various electronic items like alarms, transmission equipment, or hospital equipment. Created through beepbox, using the preset chiptune sample instrument.

Recording of my duduk. It's in the key of a, so i played a b3 and pitched it up to c3 with melodyne so it's usable in a sampler or to import as a wavetable in serum or whatever. Because of it's harmonic content, it actually works great as a clean yet relatively translatable sub bass for electronic music. I used it to make a wavetable in serum which works perfectly. The instrument is a double reed woodwind folk instrument from armenia, the reeds are made of a flattened piece of bamboo, and the body is made of the wood from an apricot tree. And it's history dates back to approximately 1200bc. Enjoy!.

Sounds from barton musical circuits dual logic going though doepfer a-101-1 vactrol vcf. Dual logic is modulated by bartons 2lfosh, via bastl-instruments tromsø. The vfc is also modulated by 2lfosh. The other sound is from alm pip slope in loop mode and modulated by a nonlinearcircuits single jerkoff, with an injection of cv from 2lfosh.

In this patch i use bastl instruments tromsø as comparator, sample and hold and oscillator (3 in 1). The cv is coming from nonlinearcircuits jerk off. The audio out from tromsø goes through nonlinearcircuits timbre!. Some delay from an analog delay pedal and reverb from doepfer spring reverb. One voice exploring a chaotic cv source. I sold one of my tromsøs a while ago. Will i regret that? psssst take a closer look at the wave form! the wave folder is doing its work!.

X-act heavy metal drum kit==========================drum kit: tama rockstarsnare: mapex maplecymbals: zildjianall were recorded in studio with a sennheiser e835 microphone plugged into a roland juno-g synthesizer. Cymbals need some 15khz eq increase because of the dynamic microphone's treble roll-off. No copyrights, free for all uses. I recommend using native instruments battery to launch the samples. Each of the battery's cells can accept stacked multi-samples, and the kit can be played through an electronic drum kit through midi. Excellent results. Any comments, contact matias: matias. Ok, i don't know how many of you might be interested in this, but i figure there's no harm in posting it. I'm working on some original songs. Laptop-based, electronic songs, with many orchestral parts, including violin, viola, cello, and string bass. Presonus studio one has some very nice vst string instruments, and i have some really great ones for kontakt. But they all are missing one thing, and i couldn't find the (admittedly esoteric) sound that i'm looking for anywhere on the internet. Being a viola player myself, i recorded myself playing these very particular incidental sounds. Let me explain-. There's this 'grabby' sound that a well-rosined bow makes just is it is first being drawn across the string. Listen carefully to any of the pros and you'll hear it. In your laptop sequences, if used subtly, right at the point where the first note of a phrase is initiated, this sound can give the string part a marked sense of realism*. This, combined with vibrato, reverb and a nice warm/tube/tape saturation setting, nobody will be able to tell the difference between your vst and the real thing. About the audio-i tried to keep them as pitchless as possible, thus not limiting their utility. I recorded two sets of all four open strings (c, g, d, a), first close mic'ed, and once from a few feet away, in stereo. Or to say it another way, the sounds are as follows-1. Open c close2. Open g close3. Open d close4. Open a close5. Open c far6. Open g far7. Open d far8. Open a far. It's totally overkill for me to record all the different versions, but i suppose somebody out there might find one more appropriate than another for their purposes. They work pretty effortlessly for violin and viola, but you might have to pitch them down for cello and string bass. I added no processing whatsoever, apart from normalizing each individual sound. Aiff, recorded at 44/16. Nady scm-2090 stereo condenser mic, focusrite saffire pro 24 interface, recorded in logic. Not the quietest room, but these sounds will be so far down in the mix that it won't matter. Free for all to download, no attribution necessary. Http://www. Freesound. Org/people/bruce%20burbank/sounds/220917/. As an example, here's the part i'm working on that motivated me to record these sounds, with the grabby sound in place. See if you can spot the three times i used it. *pro tip- much the same way i'll insert an inhale breath right before horn or oboe phrases.
