To create this sound i recorded a disposable lighter in my bedroom. To record, i used my aston spirit microphone on cardioid polar pattern and my focusrite scarlett 18i20 second generation (2nd gen) interface running pro tools from my mac at 48khz, 24 bit. I also used a reflection filter to lower rt60 so this sound has minimal reverb to tape. The cable i used was made of canford hst cable and has neutrik xlr connectors.

Recorded during riding by attaching a zoom h4n at my left leg. The xy-microphone pointed vertically direction to the seat/engine, so no spectacular stereo-sound, but different sound timbre on l/r. The exhaust had a rusted hole so it's not the original vespa-sound but more rough. Different styles of driving. Including starter and switching off. No sound editing was made, so maybe you like to filter away low frequencies (some little wind was behind the shield).

Birds singing out my window in atchison kansas, an american robin, a chimney swift, and some others i'm not sure of. You can hear the neighbor kid's tv on the other side of the wall in the background along with the roar of distant trains and traffic. Recorded at just before 06:00 this morning with lifecam hd300 about 4 feet from the windows. Edited in goldwave with a highpass filter cutting down some of the rumble below 70hz.

Rain on a roof through an open window. Drops foreground are striking zinc very next to the mics. Other raindrops on the slate roof. Water falling from the gutter on a concrete floor further. Very nice thunderclap at 1'42"a low cut filter should be used to avoid some bass frequency in the wind. France, 2020listen also to "continuous thunderstorm" https://freesound. Org/people/bruno. Friday. Random. Why this madness? answer: i have patched s/h (sample and hold) random to doepfer a-160 clock divider and that affects the a-161. For the sake of it i patched one of the gates to the ladik r-110 rnd t/g (random trigger and gate). Result much more randomness than i can use. I can tell you that there is a lot of blinking diodes :-) sounds from doepfer a-110 and 2hp osc and sampler soundmachines ul1uloop.

Same patch as in electronic minute no 226 and 227 but on my real modular. I'm using a filter. Thats why i call this version subtractive. I'm subtracting harmonics from a square wave. Why are 226 blue? probably because i did it at work. . . Listening in bad earbuds. Makes you rise the bass. Lets see if i can make this wave ble at the end! i will slowly fade out the vco with high pitch. At the very end i'm switching the synth off.

Foley audio of passing cars on a country lane. Cars passed behind the direction the camera was facing. There's a mild stabilisation noise you may hear which could detriment your audio if not removed. Other than this, the sound is eloquent enough. Oin camera mic has been used from a canon 7d with no wind filter. Recorded in burnley, lancashire.

Http://www. Myspace. Com/capashen2 note : please show me your composition when you used this sample, i would to listen it !:d. Very usefull sample for transition within two parts. To bring the chorus for example. It sounds a bit electric with an sound effect made with synth. I use it all the time hehe. Made with : white noise filtered, drum layering, big plate reverb. . . Tip : it was not very processed in order to make your own process like sidechain on reverb tail, envelope. . . . Etc.

Cptnal's comment on muffwiggler was an big aha moment. He wrote "you could patch the output of one s&h into the input of the next and get yourself a 12-step shift register. " well i don't have 12 s/h. I have 10. . . I would need a lot of sequenced gates to build that shift register. . . In this patch i use 4 s/h. (s/h or s&h is sample and hold. ).

A version of greensleeves, played on a music box with distortion and reverb, to imitate the speaker of an ice cream van. In australian ice cream vans most commonly play greensleeves for some reason, and they all use crappy amplifiers cranked up as loud as they'll go, so the result is something like this. Created in ableton live. The music-box sequence is created using a sampler with sounds from https://freesound. Org/people/folkman/packs/4540/ put through an expander-compressor and an overdrive filter with reverb.

Test of how uoki-toki polivoks vcf handles sin-wave (ca 270hz) when the filter is self-oscillating. I bring the uoki-toki polivoks vcf to self-oscillation and tune the vcf to ca 270hz too. The vco is also tuned to 270hz. In this test i connect the same lfo to cv1 on the vcf and 1v/oct on the module i use as vco (intellijel μvcf). I let the lfo run. Cv1 on vcf pot at 100%. They are playing together. The vco is connected to the in on the vcf. Confused explanation. . . But at least not in swedish.

The user gorgoroth6669 posted an awesome recording of some wolves, somewhere in norge. Http://www. Freesound. Org/people/gorgoroth6669/sounds/76456/. I needed it mono, but the upload was stereo. So, in the process of rendering a mono version. . . I decided to tinker. There's high & low pass filtering as well as a 4 band eq applied. Seems to have significantly reduced the noise. I also forced zero crossings :]. Figured i'd post in case anyone can make use of it√. Takk gorgoroth6669!.

This was recorded inside the blue mosque in istanbul during friday prayer in may 2005. To get in to the blue mosque with recording equipment we had to get a permission from the religious authorities. We also needed a muslim to operate the equipment since the friday prayers were forbidden for non-muslims. We set up the recording equipment and let our turkish guide hit the record button once the prayer started. The sound is recorded using an m/s rig straight to dat and processed afterwards with a hp filter in protools to remove microphone rumble. Recorded by asbjørn blokkum flø, kjetil bjørgan and the anonymous guide.

I thought i had a diy contact mic somewhere, but i did not find it. But i found another thing. A contact mic for an instrument tuner. But (again) it had a 1/4 inch mono plug. That meant i could not connect it to my computer mic in. But (i know) what if i plug it in to my modular synth. Surprise. . . Then i could add a little filter, pan and spring reverb. So clamped the mic on to my external 3,5 inch disc drive and recorded. This is my submission to dare 51.

This is a recording of a slow freight train passing from about 50 feet away using the internal mics of a tascam dr-40. The recording was made in southern mississippi, usa. The train was going down a gentle slop, around a bend. The engines can be heard approaching and passing, followed by the various sounds made by the wheels as the individual cars pass. The file was edited using adobe audition 6. The processing used was a high pass filter around 30 hz and a multi-band compressor. A couple of times during the recording clipping of the pre-amps can be heard because i was manually riding the input gain.

A sound i initially made for scp containment breach's ambiance sounds when i had first had the zoom h6 (2019 december, i regularly sound mod old games to gain learning experience of the encoding, the resampling quality of that engine and the internals and since then i've improved in many places). The actual recording is the pressure sound of water going down its sinkhole, filtered as to "muffle" the sound due to the design being that behind a wall and catching the attention of the player likely leading to their death by scp-173 but also was done to boost its bass and it gives a sort of comfortable, releasing feel.

Recorded on 20. 05. 2020 on schneealpe in styria, austria. Its funny - and a bit scary - that one can see the exact crevice the recording took place from a satellite. There was a bit of snow left from winter but rapidly melting. Drops fall from 30 cm to the rock below in different rhythms. Recorded with 2 km184 ab ~40cm apart into sounddevices 744. Unfortunately i had no proper windscreen and so there is quite some rumble up to 120hz. The rumble can be filtered out easily, but i left the recording as is (i normalized and converted from 96k to 48k in audacity).

It becomes clear when i record with audacity and can actually see the attack and decay. I’m playing with alm pip slope. With this module you can cv control the attack and decay. As oscillator i use intellijel μvcf in self-oscillation mode. I fm-modulate this filter/oscillator with a tone from uoki-toki polivoks vcf. The semi random trigger is really two triggers connected to an or gate. Pitch is from analogue systems rs-40 (sample/hold and noise). I can listen to this for a looong time. Retro sound.

Kid around 4 year old crying (tantrum) outside in the distance echoing among buildings. Some city rumble in background. I edited the sound to remove the mother's voice. Use an high-pass filter 120hz to diminish city rumble. Recorded with zoom h4n-pro 48 khz / 24 bit. Use freely on your personal commercial and non-commercial projects. Don't put this raw sounds/files on youtube or anywhere else. You can use them in creative way as a part of art-form, but not "re-distribute" as (royalty free) stock material. Thank you.

A sound demo of the registers Violin, Viola and Horn, with modulation, crescendo and sustain. You will hear random akkords. Note: Horn is the low pass filtered version of the register Trumpet, not an additional register. Trumpet sounds much brighter. If the button Horn is pressed, you may release the button Trumpet, without any change in sound. Horn means French horn. The fundamentals of this patch is from the doepfer home pagehttp://www. Doepfer. De/a100_man/a100_patch. Htmthe patch they call "random melody". I call the sound "random melody from doepfer site". Boring. . . I added a voice with some delay/reverb fx and some simple drums. The high-hat is made from white noise and the bass drum isa self oscillating filter. I have used a minor scale on my doepfer a-157 quantizer. This sound is slitly treated in audacity. A little compressor and limiter. Review from one of my kids: "well, there is some rhythm".

A typhoon thunderstorm recorded in a backyard of an apartment complex in xinyi district, taipei city, taiwan, in late august, 2022. Rain can be heard falling on grass, the glass roof over the recording area, and various roof materials in the area such as tin, brick, concrete, and clay tile. Occasionally, there is thunder. Recorded on a zoom h1n with a wind filter, at its 96k 24 bit option, mic sensitivity control wheel set to 6 (out of 10). Due to the length of the recording, this is part 2 of 2.

This is a sound of vintage soviet transistor organ junost 75. I have sampled one tone per octave in its 5-octave range, which is sufficient to re-create the original sound (tested on ensoniq asr-10, korg tr6 and casio ctk-900). But if you use only the middle sample, you can still simply create a great combo organ sound. This sample has ben recorded while all 4 registers were switched on. For succesful re-creation i recommend to slightly decrease filter cut-off, to add some resonance and fast vibrato. Enjoy!.

Rumor has it that the core of the original thx-sound actually was programmed in csound in case you want to recreate the original. A google search will give you the right pointer.

This one is overdone by experimenting with too many vst filters. . . ^-(. . . Urban ambience with local residents talking, some moderate, yet constant traffic, a plane at the end and featuring the sound of love. Includes people talking in the background, some distant cars, a church bell, one or two planes about to land, people opening and closing the back door. As special appearance, there is someone having a joyful time (or -less probable- screaming of pain repeatedly) throughout the whole lenght of the recording. A recording of my mini-fridge that i split into two components - the hum (this) and the evaporator thing that makes all the drippy sounds. I separated them so people can change the volume of each element, since i noticed with my fridge that you can only really hear the hum if you're really close, but hear the drippy sounds from quite a distance away, even if they're really quiet. Recorded with a zoom h4n pro, used rx7 to separate the elements. As always, i've got the un-modified loop in my "raw recordings" pack.

Stereo recording made in the generator hall of tate modern between exhibitions. The end of the hall furthest from the entrance was empty, so i ran the recorder for a couple of minutes just to sample the reverberation. Because it is a school holiday in the uk, there were large numbers of children in the gallery, especially on the upper deck bridge about 25m from the recorder, and their voices are higher pitched and their behaviour extrovert. The space is large, so the echoes give a lot of atmosphere. Recorded on zoom h2. Transferred to audacity and high pass filter with breakpoint of 180hz used (12db/octave) to remove the hum that is prevalent at this site. +6db of amplification used, so peaks at -18dbfs.

4ch surround recording of a bike riding through city traffic (leipzig/germany) on an evening in late spring. Recorded with a zoom h2 with a rycote windshield in a shock mount fastened to the center frame above the pedals. All recordings in the set are raw from the recorder and will usually need a hi-pass filter to deal with the rumble. Steady riding and freewheeling along a minor street, with some cars and a scooter passing, some gear switching and stopping at a red light with cars passing on the intersecting street at the end. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

The sound of the bottom of a ceramic mug, dragged over the metal grating of a coffee machine. It sounds like a sword drawn from a scabbard. Recorded using a zoom h6 in the kitchen. Applied a filter to remove unwanted low and very high frequencies. Also corrected the volume level to adjust all four recordings to the exact same level. There are some minor distracting noises - i assume from my shirt while moving the mug over the surface. Also a fan is very faintly audible in the background. If you are interested in a very clean recording of this sound, please let me know.

I needed a rattle-snake sound for a tracklay so recorded myself shaking my salt and pepper grinders. Considering i recorded this on a stereo mic in the bedroom of my two-bed flat, i think it came out pretty well!. This is the processed version, which has been through noise reduction and high-pass filtering (soft cut off begins somewhere around 200hz). I believe that this has drastically improved the raw recording, but if you would like to use the original and process it yourself, feel free to send me a message and i will upload it. Recorded using my zoom h1 at 48k/32-bit (because i didn't realise it wasn't set to 96k. . . Whoops!).

This piece is a sound-sculpture of a weather effect commonly called the beast from the east in the uk. It is based on a longer piece by me called frozen kaos. This was constructed by me using only copywrite free sources of sounds, musical(ish) pieces and natural sounds. All of these were assembled and processed using the free software package audacity™. Most samples have been filtered, pitched, and manipulated vastly to make the basic foundation. On that base all the rest of the sounds were layer (over 200 different layers -- manipulated, mixed down, rebuilt, remixed, manipulated). I mostly work be happenstance and never take notes -- often what comes about is as much by chance as by design.

A request for freesounder neilreynolds1980, intended as a soundtrack for the play dr faustus at the point the eponymous character is sucked into hell. A bit of technical information: the basic sound is a stacked set of ‘devil’s intervals’ (augmented fourths) with doubling at the octave, playing an instance of calf organ set to a truly horrifying demonic choir patch i created. The rest of the effects are accomplished using automation of this instrument as well as calf pulsator and calf filter in ardour. This sounds much better when downloaded than it does in the freesound player. The stereo image and sample rate are much reduced in the version you hear in the player.

Made this recording to share with the community. Please feel free to use it however you wish. No credit needed. Recorded what i was hearing outside my bedroom window. It's a combination of various sounds for about 33 minutes. I did normalize the track a little bit and added a low shelving eq filter. If you want the raw audio file to do your own clean up. . . Message me. There are mic bumps and movements that you'll need to take out or edit out. I hope it's may be useful for your project. A slinky spring toy stretched out and plucked once from the end, recorded with a zeppelin design labs cortado impedance-matched piezo contact microphone. The resulting recording is a classic spring-based sci-fi "laser sound" with a massive, lengthy, rumbling decay tail. This was recorded at 24 bit 96 khz. In addition to its use as a sound effect, this waveform works well inside a convolution reverb as an offbeat spring reverb impulse response, provided one has the processor power and ram to support a 2 minute 13 second convolution. The cortado's bass response is exceptionally large for a contact mic, so high pass filtering may be desired if used as an impulse response.

Acid bass: 110 bpm c2 note, not your typical saw/square basslines. High sweeping filters in parallel sampled in ableton using massive, compression using psp compressor2 and psp warmer. Random presets, and very little other effects used, mostly so this sample can be re-sampled. 110 bpm so it can be pitched up which is usually better then having to pitch samples down. Check out my songs on soundcloud :d.

B) a more advanced patchtriggers from env. Follow. Feed with cv from jerkoff (chaos)noise to a slew controlled by a sloth lfos/h to oscosc to vcathe vca is controlled by the same lfo as the slew but inverted!. Evaluation of patch/soundone cycle is - cycles? about 1min - goodonly short sounds - no, and thats goodamplitude variation - fairly goodpitch variation - yes, goodtimbre variation - not bad at allmusical value - i should consider this musicalentertaining - think so, yes.
