After spending a weekend putting together a giant wardrobe (from everyones favourite swedish furniture store) for my girlfriend i thought i should reward myself by making some recordings of it. This is a close mic recording of the sliding door, i followed the top of the door (where there was the most interesting sound) the full length of the wardrobe as i opened/closed the door. For this recording i used my sennheiser mkh416 going into a sound devices mp-1 preamp and recorded to a tascam dr-680.

Sounds are surprisingly variable and could be used not for just bag bust also for layering audio for weapon reloading for games. I finally decided to begin uploading sounds here (so those are my very first sounds here)those are old recordings which i've done about 2-3 years back on my phone for personal projects, before i've got decent recorder, those sounds are the best sounding among the others. This is one of the very few canarian permanent waterfalls. It is located in los tilos forest, a biosphere reserve within las nieves natural park in la palma (canary islands, spain). It's about 25 meters tall and flows into a gorge covered by a thick laurel forest (laurisilva), a tropical ecosystem full of trees and ferns resembling jurassic park. Operating my washing machine (front loader, brand: indesit). This reflect the full circle of a washing process from turning the control knob to the typical “clack” when the machine is finished and the look is once again released. All the intermediate steps like washing, spinning and so on, are shorten in time (otherwise this would be a 50min sound clip). But you can loop all those sounds very well. The exciting thing about recording and cataloging natural sounds is how you get nice, unexpected surprises. I was up early recently one spring day and did not have any real plans to record, until i stepped outside with my coffee to see what the weather was like and was nicely surprised with the light, steady spring rain that was falling in my yard; during the whole time this energetic carolina wren kept on singing through the rain. I rain, got my recorder and recorded a full hour of this peaceful pattering. You hear the drops hitting the concrete patio, the shingled overhang and a plastic chair. Zoom h4n recorder using the stereo built-in mics.

A soundscape of several thunderstorms mixed together to create a uniquely immersive, full field recording. This editing process allows for rain and thunder strikes to be recorded at different volumes and creates a more diverse atmosphere with different types of rain, wind, and ambiance melded into one found sound. Although each storm was recorded in a slightly different location, everything is from the greater detroit, mi, usa area. -recorded entirely with a tascam dr-03 set at 48 k / 24 bit. Then each different storm was edited together in magix music maker. -this album version fades out with a simple, repeating synth line.

My iphone died, but not completely. The screen was cracked, the battery was failing and it was difficult to make contact in the worn charging socket to charge it. It reset itself frequently and never stayed on in any temperature below 65 degrees f. So i downloaded my data and activated a new phone, but lo and behold, i couldn't turn off the old one. I would have to wait for the battery to run down. For once, the battery lasted. Two days later i listened to the alarm go off for ten minutes. My arms were full of laundry, and suddenly my backup alarm started blaring, loaded with an obnoxious ringtone. My back porch is concrete. My 16-ounce claw hammer was handy.

If you stand just underneath a commercial airplane as it's coming in to land (as was the case here at dfw airport) and so long as there's not a lot of noise around you (like loud traffic, etc. ) then when the jet passes overhead, what you can't see is that at the tips of the wings are rapidly spinning vortices of air that coil off the wingtips as the plane passes through air. These long, coiling spirals of air will eventually "close" and as that happens, it creates a momentary but bizarre, surreal sound that you really need to hear for yourself in person to get the full effect. This was the best i could capture on august 15th, 2022. Enjoy!.

For a podcast project i needed some coffee related sounds so i recorded our techni-vorm moccamaster, filter coffee machine as it brewed a full pot. Our version has a metallic thermos jug rather than the standard glass jug. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. This is a recording of myself sleeping, beginning ~ 1:00 am local time (~ 3hrs after going to bed) on january 10th, 2020 (which i later discovered was a full moon). I was in the midst of experimenting with recording myself all night long out of curiosity, using a laptop placed near the head of my bed. This particular recording was the only anomalous one (the rest consisting mostly of just breathing or snoring with occasional sleep-talking). This ~2 hour recording has several interesting properties, which make it hard for me to believe that these sounds were actually going on while i was sleeping. On the other hand, i don't have a memory of editing this file if i did. Either way, i find it unsettling. I found the file in oct 2021 while organizing my samples. As far as i can remember, this is the original raw recording. On further inspection, i discovered that it has some additional peculiar properties that make it even harder to believe i could have made it without remembering doing so. The audio spans almost exactly 118min (7080s). There’s a frequency sweep with a cycle-length of 6480ms that repeats throughout the entire recording. Dividing the 118min by 6. 48min (60 cycles) results in 18 parts containing exactly 60 cycles and a remainder of 12 cycles. Rec by eric strausser_fireworks near launchpad_tascam da-p1_neumann rsm 191. This recording was made in the parking lot of a church. On the other side of a line of trees was the launch pad for the towns fire work show. The mic is angled at the sky. Along with the big round booms and flat smacky booms you can also make out the swish as rockets swirl through the air. In between booms, whistles and fizzles you you can also hear the sound of the debris from the cardboard shells falling around me. Sometimes they were on fire, though you can't hear that quality in the audio. It's good for fireworks and is pretty easy to eq for more of a distant quality. I find it's more fun using it to sweeten weapons. The full recording is 29 minutes.

Here is a recording taken from a boardwalk running through a swamp in jackson county illinois. Recorded on friday september 23 2022 as the season of autumn begins to stir. By now the neo-tropical warblers and other migrants are gone. Leaving the woodpeckers and blue jays and crows. A reflective ambiance of a now dry swamp, slowing down awaiting the arrival of full-on autumn, then winter. You hear the wind sifting through the branches of the oaks, and hickories and maples, the chattering of woodpeckers, and, since this is the time of year of the harvest, you hear the often dropping of acorns, and hickory nuts, and pieces of hickory nuts and acorns, as the squirrels 30 feet above the swamp get sloppy with their lunch. Zoom h4n 2018 - onboard microphones. This recording is 17 full minutes of ambiance from inside an in-n-out fast food restaurant. This in-n-out is located in downtown burbank, california located at 761 n 1st st, burbank, ca 91502. The great thing about this recording is that it's free of all music that would invalidate the recording due to copyright restrictions. In-n-out, unlike other fast food chains, does not allow music in their dining rooms. This is because most in-n-out locations are so busy and constantly loud, the addition of music would create an unbearable sense of mayhem. I was reviewing some audio in search of something else, when i realized i had one of the rarest of audio occurrences, the natural queef that comes from coitus and without deliberate inflation. It isn't disgusting or loud, it's quite soft and cute and i'm overjoyed to have found it, as its rarity is something on the order of an alaskan gnat fart in january. So i'm sharing it, hoping someone(s) will do something cool with it. I honestly don't have the time to waste that i've spent on this already. Please download the pack if interested. "queef. A summer evening in a vineyard by the german town of freyburg on unstrut. The recording abounds with natural background noises (wind in trees, birds, insects). In the foreground, a little bird is singing, giving it all it has. I am no bird expert, but if somebody knows what species it is, i'd love to know. At 3:22 into the recording, the tower bells of the keep of neuenburg castle, located on the hill opposite, toll 9 o'clock. They do this by tolling a high bell 4 times, once for each quarter of the full hour, followed by a lower bell tolling the hour 9 times. The recorder is located on the top of the vineyard, facing across the valley between vineyard and castle. These are the rear channels of a 4ch surround recording. Recording conducted with a zoom h2, mic's set to 120° dispersion.

I made this recording with my newly acquired $10 primo em172 omni mic capsules, which i soldered to a cable diy loosely based on this tutorial:http://www. Wildmountainechoes. Com/equipment/diy-stereo-electret-mics-primo-em-172-capsules/this is a good example of what the capsules sound like when plugged directly into an inexpensive zoom h1 audio recorder. So far i've been pretty stunned by the performance of these capsules, which are significantly more sensitive than the built in microphones on the h1, and to my ears sound much less muddy. I'm particularly impressed by this because the capsules are running on the 2. 5v of plug-in power that the h1 delivers, which is below the minimum specs of the capsules. Even so there is remarkably little noise. I can only imagine how they would sound with a battery pack to deliver a full 5 volts!.

This is the first recording in this pack from inside a traditional, working old dutch windmill, called de lelie - the lily - in the picturesque dutch village of eenrum. This mill was used to grind grain. There was a strong northwesterly breeze straight from te sea, so the sails of the windmill were in full swing, this morning on saturday may 14th. The dominant sound you hear is the sound of the so called “schuddebak”, litterally translated as “shaking bin”. This is a device in the form of a large wooden shovel which is tapping against the turning millstone in order to distribute the grain equally along the millstone. On the background you hear the millstone itself. On the second recording in this pack, the millers had detached the schuddebak, so the sound of the millstone is more dominant in that recording. This windmill is now a small museum. Admission is free, so everyone can admire this proud dutch windmill heritage which reclaimed half our country from the sea and gave us our daily bread. Circle of 5ths loop compiled on a 2015 macbook pro using field recordings. Tempo / time sig:24 bars of 3/4 timing with each bar lasting 2. 5s. Or 12 sets of 6/8 at 5s per bar with a total length of 60s. Filters:hipass pumped at 60hz, -5db. Lopass pumped at 1200hz at -6db. Delay set to 0. 05s at 600hz with a 60% wet mix. Arranged with the tonic 5th as a constant with the last (fifth) 5th in the circle, starting and ending with the tonic. Second 5th enters in 5s, third in 15s and the fourth in 25s as the fifth stops. The fifth 5th begins to fade back in after 10s of silence, which begins the process of the second, third and fourth fading out in that order. The fifth 5th is at full volume as the loop turns, as is the tonic. The mood changes noticeably as each consecutive 5th begins, and changes again as the following 5th joins the loop.

The first sunday of may is the international dawn chorus day! on the 3rd of may 2020, artists and field recordists in different parts of the world recorded the birdsong around the time of the local sunrise, and then the sounds were put together in a synchronous collage. The sounds you hear in the recording at the same time happened at the same time, but not necessarily in the same place: for example, you can hear owls calling in the spanish night at almost the same time as kookaburras in the australian day.
