It's the sound of a subway train entering the station "frankfurter ring" in munich. It's a new type, modern subway train. You hear somebody walking towards a door pulling a trolley case. Doors open, announcement comes, doors close, train leaves.

The beach at aldeburgh is made of pebbles so you can hear little of that as i walk around. You can the crashing of the waves against the pebbles and that fizzing noise as the sound dies down and the water recedes from the beach. This was recorded using a zoom h2n in 16-bit. Wav format.

This is a high-quality stereo recording of the ambient noises on a balcony in beatenberg, switzerland. This recording was made in the morning. There are birds and insects, and wind. You can also hear the very faint and distant sound of the traffic from the street in the valley.

Drawing curtains: in the sound you hear curtains being drawn from one side to the other giving a harsh "shhhhhh" sound. There are different variations in the speed in which the curtains are drawn as well. Recorded using the zoomh4n and using the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. Trying to start a 1983 volvo 245 after a stop at a gas station. First we hear the seatbelt warning signal after the driver turns the ignition on. The first start attempt fails. The two following attempts fail because the starter fails to engage with the flywheel, creating a very loud and unpleasant sound. There is some reverberation from the metal roof of the gas station. At 00:24, the driver remarks "he's doing it again!". The fourth attempt succeeds in starting the engine after a rather long cranking. We then drive off and we also hear some squeaking from the steering wheel. Throughout the recording we hear breathing noises from the driver (80 year old man, smoker). The recording was made in the front passanger seat with the window open, that's why there a very noticable difference between the left and right channel. Recorder: edirol r-09, 48khz wave/24-bit, cropped with cool edit pro, re-saved as 48khz wave/24-bit and compressed with flac. No other pp. Edirol r-09 settings: low cut: off, mic gain: low, agc: off. Here is a recording done during the fireworks of san juan at the beachof barcelona, spain. I was standing in front of the mapfre building, between the building and the sea to be exact. Fireworks were being launched behind me from the beach and their sound was reflected off of the building in front of me. The effect you hear are thereflections of the building. The building is shaped to visually reflect the city back onto the beach. Hence each floor has mirrors in a 45 angle downwards, all around the building (look it up on google for details). The sound must be coming from different points each located further away, creating a kind of discrete doppler effect, i suppose, although i am not yet 100% sure what exactly causes this. I am holding the microphone sideways, so you hear the explosions on your right ear and the reflection traveling to the left. In reality, you hear the explosion behind you and the reflection traveling up along the building. If you are ever in barcelona end of june during "san juan", you should check this out!. I was recording outside my bedroom window while eating dinner in the living room, then i came back in here to see if i got anything interesting. I was zooming through the recording at 5x speed when i came across this bit of incidental pareidolia. I'm not sure what was going on, maybe the neighbors' stereo, but i don't remember hearing it, it's much louder in the living room so i should have. Whatever it was came out as a little distant choppy 2-notes alternating melody when played at 5x speed, which suddenly gets louder and solid as you hear the lower note followed by a third lower note. These 2 louder notes sound to me like someone singing the words all day. This would lead me to believe the original tones have some light harmonics i don't hear at normal speed. After which it goes back to the softer stuttering 2-note alternating thing from before. It doesn't sound like much at all at normal speed. So i just did a few straight pitch changes with goldwave until i got to 5x and saved this little file. See if it sounds like "all day" to you.

A recording made on sunday september 27th, 2015 at 2:45pm in the forest on a cloudy slightly humid day in early fall. The temperature was about 70 and it was a fairly quiet woods. The squeaky sound that you hear off and on is a tree-frog. Made with marantz pmd661 and sennheiser me-66 microphones. Enjoy.

This is the sound of an inland vessel on river rhine, near mannheim, germany. You can hear the rhythmic and fluctuating vibrations of the diesel engine. Seems to be an older one. Unfortunately i oriented my zoom h2n wrongly (90° to the right). So most of the noise appears on the left ear.

Here is some ambience of the exterior of my high school in the morning. In the recording, i begin at the end of the parking lot and finish the recording just outside the entrance to the school. Sounds of wonderful cicadas recorded in bolano (la spezia, italy) in august 2021. You can hear different species of cicadas, sound of wind and sound of the small town in the distance. Recorded with a zoom h1n (96khz /24bit). Recorded in a sunny, calm-windy afternoon. The sound was no post-processed.

Pills being taken out of a metal wrapper: a very distinct metallic sound can be heard. It is sharp and high-pitched. You can hear a pop when the pill is being taking out of it's housing. Great to create tension in a scene. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg.

Cricket shoes walking on pavement: in this sound you will hear cricket shoes( spikes ) walking on pavement it has a sharp sound when walking on pavement but is oddly satisfying to listen to. Recorded using the zoomh4n and the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. No processing was done on this sound. The cricket shoes are addidas shoes and the pavement was a concrete pavement.
