Another example on "listening" to a computer. Many sounds you hear are overtones from fans. The sharp noise is data transfers. Most of the sounds are caused by moving the mouse. Nine minutes of a strong thunderstorm with heavy rain and frequent thunder, recorded on the back patio of my house. Recorded with an iphone 4, then converted to wav 48hz. The quality is pretty good. You don't hear any cars or other background noise, just lots of rain and thunder.

I have an old toy called a zube tube which is a cardboard tube with a plastic cup in each end and a long spring stretched between the cups. When you shake the tube it makes the weirdest sounds! in this recording i am holding and shaking the tube vertically. You can hear the spring oscillating.

A classic deep woods, summer soundscate. The insects' droning seems to slow everything down as the high tempuratures bake the land. Every now and then you'll hear some bird calls in this recording. Towards the end, the insects temporarily stop and a goldfinch answers with his/her own call.

The bells of santa maría la real gothic church ring in an autumn evening. Once the tolls stop you can hear the city's background noise at its main square. Olite is a small town in the south of navarra (spain). Recorded with a poco x3 phone's recorder in hq mode.

Drawing curtains: in the sound you hear curtains being drawn from one side to the other giving a harsh "shhhhhh" sound. There are different variations in the speed in which the curtains are drawn as well. Recorded using the zoomh4n and using the rode ntg1 condenser shotgun microphone. Crescendo demo, played without modulation. You will hear the registers Viola and Violin. The crescendo only influences the registers Violin and Viola, not Trumpet/Horn and Contrabass and Cello. The crescendo effect is monophonic, i. e. the keys have always to be released and pressed down again in order to get the crescendo effect.
