Recorded on clearwater beach florida usa. While doing a story for broadcast i thought, the sounds around me might be helpful to someone somewhere. This was june 10, 2013, about 10:30am. Recorded with an inexpensive recorder and expensive shotgun microphone, mono, mp3, 128kbs. Enjoy.

Very strong wind in the beach. I couldn't help laughing blown by tremendously strong wind. My at835st was covered with a wind-protection foam but no use. I dont recommend this file to everybody. It may hurt your speaker system if played loudly. Marantz pmd661.

I'm making a spooky scary video game and needed a "behind you" whisper to play over the shoulder of the player. Didn't find anything so i made it myself by recording several whispers of "behind you" and then applying effects in audacity. Hope this helps someone. Go ahead and use this for whatever. Made on a site called beepbox where you can make 8-bit sounds and export as wav. I make 8-bit games and thought i would contribute back to this site which has helped me in so many situations over the years.

Blending a smoothie. Blender goes on and off a couple of times to help churn frozen strawberries. During the blending, there is the sound of a spoon tapping on the pitcher. Recorded in mono mp3 mode on a zoom h2. The recorder then created a 2-track file (and i assume both tracks are identical). Compressed and normalized to -3. 1 db in audacity. Exported in flac mode.

A second attempt at recording the deep mud i keep finding myself walking through each morning on walthamstow marshes. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics (connected to a bent wire clothes hanger and positioned about 30cm above my feet). Processing: normalize -1. 0db, low cut filter 100hz, minor noise reduction to reduce background traffic/train noise. I do not require any credit or attribution.
