This is a short wavefile of really bad drums and a crying baby. To be used properly, it needs to be turned way up. This sound has a story behind it - i made this up for one purpose, and one purpose only - to temporarily blast my long-term loud neighbors into realizing that 'they' are now the victims. They "were" relentless at playing loud music continuously, and it was a hot humid day,no air-con, and i had a lot of wine. This is the fire alarm in my building as recorded in the hallway outside my apartment. The ceilings are relatively low. The floor is vinyl or something. Drywall otherwise. This recording is backwards. Slowed down, exported & slowed down again.

My desktop pc's front audio out sometimes (depending on the wifi connection) makes various sounds, which i tried to record. . . Not sure i was successful. :).

I did this by tuning my voice as low as i could get it and recording it. Then i slowed the voice down to 0. 400, instead of using the paulstretch. I, again, did this with audacity and used my laptop to record it. Pretty good, i think.

Long recording of an intense new england thunderstorm, recorded through an open window with a portable minidisc recorder and attached sony condenser microphone. The first ~18:45 is relatively quieter (and cleaner), though there are several good thunder rolls at ~1:20, 4:00, and 14:10. After 18:45 the storm picks up and the recording is correspondingly louder, and the storm goes a bit crazy -- there are many very loud thunder rolls, though unfortunately there is also some clipping and distortion. From 24:00 through the end of the recording, the storm winds down and the recording level is just right to pick up a number of very clean but loud thunder rolls, with some nice stereo separation.

I set my mics up just in time to catch this loud thunder crash during a recording session. I aimed a stereo-matched pair of akg 451s out the window in an x-y configuration and ran them into a universal audio 2-610 preamp. There are no effects at all.
