Airliner flying low over a rural area at night. These are the rear channels of a 4ch surround recording. Recorded with a zoom h2, mic's set to 120° dispersion.

Electric wood sander sanding a sheet of ply wood. Hard, loud and abrasive sound, high volume low pitch. Recorded inside a workshop with a zoom h6 recorder. Audio was post-processed to boost the audio. Wood sander was a bosch 230v.

Bass warning!a 13second sinewave, the tone sweeps up from exactly 20hz to 190 hz then stops. It was recorded in logic pro & i use it from time to time to do sub sweeps. If your speakers are loud please don't have them cranked up without hearing low first.

Mix-up of various sounds to create the ambiance of a nuclear implosion. Good for using in spacial environments. This one is the low frequency version. Both of them can be played simultaneously to variate the effect.

I recorded this using my small sony cybershot camera. You'll notice that the wind goes from loud to soft to loud again, repeating. This because i am opening the window wide and then after a few seconds i close the window but not completely so that i get some low whistling sounds from the wind. I recorded for 18 minutes and i used audacity to edit it. Hope this sound is useful for you!.

School kids recorded in the cafeteria during their lunch hour. It was recorded using an iphone (extemporaneous, hence the low quality), converted from the m4a to ogg, but it could certainly pass as a background sound.

I did this by tuning my voice as low as i could get it and recording it. Then i slowed the voice down to 0. 400, instead of using the paulstretch. I, again, did this with audacity and used my laptop to record it. Pretty good, i think.

2 lengths of 3 different pitches of this low cinematic squelch bass. Played once with a large reverb and again played dry with no fx. This sound is modeled after the inception movie's large horn blast. It is a low multi-voiced saw wave with a specific ring modulation setting to give it it's effect. This sound is rendered as a 44100 sample rate 16 bit wav file. Made with native instrument's massive inside ableton live 9.

I accidentally recorded this sequence when i left my camcorder on while filming some drawing tutorials. My warehouse style studio is in the inner city at street level opening onto a street closure/park so you will hear some faint bird tweeting in the background. Near the beginning and end there is the sound of a large industrial sliding door and the loud clanging is a drop bolt on an external metal security grill gate. Wind blown chimes add to the scene. I only applied a very low level audio clean-up using adobe soundbooth cs3 to reduce hiss.

Blood quickly escaping an open artery. (actually just me squeezing the hell out of a grapefruit). Begins with a steady spray, then ends in several loud spurts. More blood/gore fx coming soon-ish. Recorded in a studio with a sennheiser 416, very close proximity. < 1' away. Through an mbox directly into protools, edited to remove head/tail ambience. You might hear me breathing in there, very low.

Interesting (but painful) sounds made with a zoom h2 (front mics, low gain) connected to a laptop via usb. The signal was piped to old creative sbs250 spekers with 16ms of latency (i'm using jack audio connection kit and linux). That's how my feedback loop came into existance. I turned up the volume and started to move the mics around, geting a lot of different sounds ranginf from simple tones to strange lfoish sounds. The sound touches 0db one times, but is rather undistorted (at least digitally). Recorded with audacity @ 48khz/16-bit and saved as flac.

A complete trip on métro (subway) line 9 of the paris subway system, from the alma-marceau station to the havre-caumartin station. Starts with descent into the métro station and ends climbing up the steps back out at the destination. One train is allowed to pass, at about the 1-minute mark, as we wait on the platform, and an announcement giving the times for the next trains can be heard. The ride on the following train begins at around the 2-minute mark. There are two loud sounds between about 9:10 and 9:20 and some loud low-frequency wind noise at around 10:40 (as we leave the métro station and return outside), so beware. Recording with zoom h4n, originally 96 khz/24 bits, uploaded as mp3 320 kbps because the wav was so big (almost 500 mb).

There's two male ghosts, one of them more loud and more low pitched than second. They sing along some song without words and screams, they're just wail and howl. Ideally can be placed in any place related somehow to ghosts(abandoned home, castle, graveyard) in some suspense moments or as constant sound on background(though, i should notice, that the sound isn't seamless). I recorded it with my own voice, audacity's delay effect on every of two tracks(every track has one voice - logically).

(loud!). Lol i record my voice while playing video games now so that i can save certain things i say, you know, for real reactions to use for cartoons and stuff. A lot of my voice clips are from playing games with jumpscares, and that's where my screams and ooooooohs come from. I used to scream all the time when playing jumpscare games, but now it's turned into some weird growl thing or somethin, i dunno. So yeah, lots of clips. There are tons of clips that i'm not uploading though. They are exclusively mine!. And for those using my sounds, i am so thrilled xd.

Note: the high-pitched squeaks are artifacts from freesound's preview and aren't present in the actual recording. 10 minutes of a thunderstorm, recorded september 7th, 2019 from my apartment window in seattle. This is the raw recording straight from my zoom h5. Levels were kept low to minimize the chance of clipping. A few thunder sounds were still too loud, but luckily the h5 has a backup function that recorded an identical track 12 db quieter. I've uploaded that as well, so you can splice the two together to taste. Eventually i'll release a processed version with the two combined, plus compression and eq, but i wanted to upload the source material in case you'd prefer to diy it.

Short field recordings made with my iphone in august 2013 while visiting family on one of the many small residential islands located in beaufort, south carolina (of forrest gump, the prince of tides, the big chill, and the great santini fame for any movie buffs out there). The loud buzzing is the ear-piercing mating call of the cicada insect, a sound that's hard to escape in the sultry summer months and semi-tropical environment of the south carolina low country. You can also hear tree frogs and i think maybe some birds too. Unfortunately there's also a little ambient whine of an air conditioner at times and me tip-toeing quietly around on the crunchy gravel dirt road. . . Because i didn't realize my iphone would do such a good job of picking up the sound of my footsteps. :). Recording of parakeets being loud in springfield park in easy london at 7:30am in november. This was an unintentional recording as i was testing out some new gear, this meant that i wasn't able to unclip the mics from my rucksack straps and avoid picking up the rustle of my clothes and some breathing. A train and canal boat engines can be heard in the background. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. Trying to start a 1983 volvo 245 after a stop at a gas station. First we hear the seatbelt warning signal after the driver turns the ignition on. The first start attempt fails. The two following attempts fail because the starter fails to engage with the flywheel, creating a very loud and unpleasant sound. There is some reverberation from the metal roof of the gas station. At 00:24, the driver remarks "he's doing it again!". The fourth attempt succeeds in starting the engine after a rather long cranking. We then drive off and we also hear some squeaking from the steering wheel. Throughout the recording we hear breathing noises from the driver (80 year old man, smoker). The recording was made in the front passanger seat with the window open, that's why there a very noticable difference between the left and right channel. Nature, and man-made machines, wake up on a saturday in a small town in southern illinois. Even though getting "away from it all" and experiencing nature in the deep woods, or a quiet field is very enjoyable, let's not forget that nature often lives and thrives side-by-side with us. I recorded this in my back yard on saturday april 27th, 2013 at 6:45 am and you'll hear the low, but everpresent low rumble of a distant train throughout. But, over and above you hear the incredible variety of calls and sounds made by a family of starlings who seem oblivious to the iron horse and the occasional car. We had rain the night before, so every now and then you hear a loud "plop" as a breeze cuts loose fat rain-drop and it hits the foam wind-screen on my h4n. Starting at around 3:47 and running to 4:08 a cardinal makes a strong appearance. I made this recording using my zoom h4n recorder, using it's internal built-in stereo microphones, with the recording gain on 81, out of 100. Enjoy!.

I combined an ambient bar crowd recording that i found here with a funky little back beat that i also found on this site and made a great cubicle noise blocker / filter. I use this at work with headphones on when i'm trying to concentrate and drown out conversations in the office. Also good for when i work from home and i'm trying to drown out the tv and other distractions. The crowd noise is excellent at diffusing regular office conversation and the little funky back beat keeps the crowd noise from getting boring. This works really well even at fairly low volume i. E. You dont have to crank it loud to drown out the distractions. Hope you like it and thanks to everyone for the great sounds on this site. Combination of the following two files - yet another bar crowd - june 2007. Wav (lonemonk)hip hop. Wav(ls)ps - i purposely let the crowd noise run out for a few seconds at the end so that you can appreciate the full groove of the hip hop. Wav. Has a nice effect when you loop the whole thing, gives you a little break from the crowd noise. Almost like you're stepping out of the room for a second.

My original dw toms, mixed with themselves 1 octave up [the octave up is lowered -6db and the envelope reshaped to allow loud only the attack]. Then for that resulting mixdow again the same thing [so i used the same method two times]. At all steps i was using the simple compressor[not multiband] for not allowing overlimiting. For the two general mixdowns [because it was a double process] i used hard compressor at -0. 45 dbs. And for the two octavic parallel channels i used hard compressor -3. 60 dbsbecause the octave doesn't sound realistic if not well compressed. For all my dw octavic tomsed i used the same exact method. My original dw toms are here if you want to read data or mics. These toms do not sound realistic as stand alone sounds. These harmonics work better only in a complete mixdown, and have increased audibility than the original recordings [for silent music parts use the original because low velocity of parallel instruments will expose the supportive tom-harmonics].

This recording is for people who hate the highlighted high frequencies. An old sabian aax small recorded with a røde m5 mic. I the created two copies of the original recording:1. On the first file i applied low pass at 2 khz and hard compression at -24 db without makeup gain. 2. On the second file i applied high pass at 2 khz and hard compression at -24 db without makeup gain. Then i lowered -2 db all the spectrum except for the band from 3. 5 khz to 9. 1 khz and i applied hard compression at -24 db without makeup gain. I merged the two files. The envelope was very flat due to the compression and thus i reshaped it on wavelab (process > level envelope. . . Or press the "v" keyboard button; draw a natural fade out in steps [non-linear]). The result is a warm crash for people who don't want them loud.

Electro-magnetic interference from the colorino talking color identifier and light probe when held near the internal ferrite antenna on the back right of a 13-year-old boombox near the bottom of the am broadcast band, from 530 to 580 khz. You first hear the device inactive being brought near the radio. This gives a low buzz of stacato clicks. At about 00:23 the light probe button is briefly pushed, you hear a quick boop of the light probe with low light level combined with the beginning of the white noise of the device active. If you put your ear near it after you use it, you will hear a slight hiss from the audio amplifier carrier idling for about a minute after last use. On the am radio this translates to white noise. At 00:26 there is a double click and a distorted voice says black. The voice is being picked up by the am radio. 10 seconds of white noise and i press the color button again and it says black. I put something else over the color sensor and it says a few more things. At 00:51 i hold down the light probe button and try to point it at the light above my desk while still holding it close enough to the radio to pick up the emi signal. You hear a warbling tone at 00:59 as the light reaching the sensor increases and decreases in brightness depending on how it's pointed. The signal fades in and out as the device is moved around. This has all happened at 530 khz. At 01:37 i step the radio up to 580 khz where you get a stronger signal. Wibw from topeka competes with the noise throughout the rest of the file. At 01:51 you hear the distorted error beep as i press the color button without anything but air and light in front of the color sensor. It must be pressed up against the thing you want the color of, or it gets in too much ambient light and errors out with a loud protesting beep.
