Four hats in a beat, recorded in voltage modular (a preset), edited and delayed in reaper.

The inspiration for this track came from a stereo cross-fading delay patch for modular synths i found, created using caustic 3. 2 with my akai mpk mini keyboard as usb-midi controller with a bit of a tangerine dream style.

The sequence is not stable. I'm not touching the synth. Te electronics are making variations. Not what i thought but interesting. Sequencing in my usual way with a vclfo. My plan was to upload a short loop, but the variations was so interesting. . . .

I tried to create a feedback loop with my delay. It'a a simple analog stomp box delay.

What can you do with this strange sound?.

A simple beat. I have shaped this kick myself in the modular synth. The high-hat is from barton musical circuits decaying analog noise (bmc23). The other sound is a small sample. . . Analog delay on that sample.

I'm using an analog delay stompbox (guitar effect pedal) to my modular synth. It's fun to overdrive it :-).

Doepfer a-119. Maybe not the coolest module on the market. But i have plans for this little friend. Bought it used. "module a-119 (external input / envelope follower) is designed to allow external audio signals to be integrated into the" (from doepfer home page) modular synth. As delay i use joyo analog delay.

It's fun to patch up a kind of analog shift register (3 stages). Doepfer a-160 controls the stages. On a-160 i use /2, /4 and /8. I sample slewed noise. No quantizer.

Mixed in random to create variations in the arpeggio. I call it arpeggio. Wrong probably. Well, call it tone sequence then. An arpeggio/sequence created with cvlfo and qnt as usually. . . Electronic minute no 28 - chaos and random are friends now. Patch with jerkoff, envelope follower, sample and hold, ring modulation and delayi like the sound my self :-). No it didn't. Well cool patch anyway? it's what i like. Small variations on a simple theme. Sloth lfos and a jerk off (both from nlc) are the engine. Yes and a comparator. Using an or/gate-combiner to create a trigger-ish for quadra to react on. Analog delay and spring reverb. Why did i do this patch from the very beginning? when the voltage on x from sloth reaches a specific value a trigger is generated and i sample the value on y and uses to select pitch on an oscillator. The one playing the long tones. Chaos creates my variations. Sh1t, now when i've stopped recording cool thing are happening. Promise. . .

A self modulated a-110. A self modulated bermuda through filter with some res. Barton analog drum, spring reverb and analog delay stompbox. Sxxxe (you know what) sound is imperfect wave forms, or. . . ?.

The sound is not as clean as in the virtual one. To some extent i blame my method of recording. . . Different oscillators sound different. Here i use a self oscillating filter. That produces a clean sinus wave. The cleanest sinus in my rack. But i guess the real thing is not perfect and that is what you are hearing? in neither of the patches i use a quantizer. . . (that's art :-)and, i almost forgot, i use a cheap analog delay pedal. Noisy. . .

I was trying to make an organic as possible high end rhythmic goa sound. This is at 133 bpm triplets.

A double krell with delay.

This is a raw sound-design sci-fi piece i made with a modular system using 4ms ensemble oscillator, mutable instruments clouds, strymon magneto & intellijel polaris.

Using a bass drum module to get not that bassdrummy sounds. . . Combining this with different types of feedback. I didn't know how to end the recording, as you will notice. I'm using an analog delay and spring reverb. Maybe the ending in it self is interesting? i find it hard to "tag" this sound :-)how useless is this sound on a scale from 1 to 5? 5 is totally useless. . .

A krell patch and short sample and hold tones. Okay even the krell gets pitch cv from a sample and hold. The short sample and hold tones are panned with help of chaos. I use two nlc sloth lfos to control the panning. The speed of the short sample and hold tones are controlled by two mixed lfos from bmc 2lfosh. Reverb from spring reverb and delay from an anlog delay stomp box. Please suggest some tags i should have used. . . !.
