I nice little flowing river sound i recorded while at muir woods outside of san fransisco. The sound can be looped to sound continuous for as long as is needed. I like it because it fills up a lot of the frequency spectrum, so it can be great for adding ambience.

This is a whole string of sounds involving a handheld cassette player, including removing the cassette from the case, rewinding, fast-forwarding, stopping, and playing. The music played is my own that i've recorded so it is included in the creative commons license. This is meant to be a wide range of sounds that you can edit and pull out just what you need.

Because someone didn't think to add water or something in it while they were on set filming the bloody thing. So the closest thing i could find to recreate the sound was an old paint can down stairs.

These sci-fi synth sweeps were created by manipulating white noise with filter sweeps and other effects and then using noise reduction to remove the underlying white noise. Captured on my zoom h4n. I open the door and the wind noise get louder. Around :50 it really starts to gust. There is a dog bark in the distance around 1:12. There is a little mic rumble throughout. I had it covered with a windshield and was standing just inside the door frame to try to prevent additional rumble. No need to credit. Use it as you would like.

I was making a short film and needed a specific sound effect, so i recorded myself trying to push something that's too heavy. It also can be used for someone who's trying to open something shut tight. I also added a scream because the character on my short fell after trying to pull, so you can use that too if you want :).

Metal thumpy toilet paper holder. I got a last minute laptop gig and had no samples with me- i needed some percussive sounds to tweak in ableton live. I headed to a public bathroom with my edirol r-09 and recorded lots of hits in the bathroom. This one was an -sounding metal toilet paper holder.

This is a noise i made myself with my mouth and an h4n and slowing it down to 80%. I was looking for the sound of a sheep eating, and believe it or not, i did manage to find one here. This is a very lowfi recording of a xerox workcentre 7345 in a very small room being switched on from standby and initializing, including some button presses with beeps, mechanical movement sounds and motors. The bitrate is only 13 kbit/s and the resulting audio quality not very good, but the file size is really small. Maybe audio level needs normalizing, though.

Another recording of slightly faster/more frequent waves lapping and crashing against a break water/wall with some quite a lot of spraying sound. Again, there is this stereo effect of the waves hitting from left to right. This would be a really good sound for any on boat/stormy sea needs.
