Here's some more of that young couple next door. For this one, they probably went 15+ minutes. Their libido must be really high for this day/night. From my listening, it seems like they were not doing it in bed the entire time. They must have used other furniture and played around in different positions. From 3:30 or even before that is when they start. Passed 5:00 is when the woman starts to moan loud. 14:55 is when they finish. 16:07 guy says i'm tired. Note that the original audio had more bed and furniture creak noises, almost 30 mins long, and some of their chats cut out. Also note that some of the noises left in on the good parts may not be sex noises. This was edit and shorten with audacity.

Rootsy solo mandolin cue, part of a "matched set" to be used in different places in a podcast, radio show, or video. The set contains segments from a second or two up to about a minute, to be used for cues, hits, bumps, interstitials and voiceovers. The music is a roundback mandolin from 1900 improvising in the key of g. The feel is uptempo, traditional, natural, organic, old time, americana. I'd be grateful for feedback on what worked and what didn't. How is the sound quality? are there lengths of cue that you needed that weren't here?. A nice ambient recording made on sunday morning may 5th 2013 around 6:30 in the morning in the shawnee national forest in deep southern illinois. I had originally wanted to get good, clear recordings of the tremendous numbers of warblers that are here, but a good, soaking steady light rain decided to stick around. I though, what the heck, that is a part of our natural world also, so let's get it all "on tape". . . . Hope you enjoy this. Recording made with my handy zoom h4n recording utilizing its built-in microphones. To keep as much water off of my h4n as possible, i put one of my big, furry, knitted insulated sock-cap over the recorder, that at least kept my recorder from swimming in water.

High sweeping filters in parallel with lfo routed to certin parts sampled in ableton using massive, compression using psp compressor2 and psp warmer. Random presets, and very little other effects used, mostly so this sample can be re-sampled. 110 bpm so it can be pitched up which is usually better then having to pitch samples down. Ok, i don't know how many of you might be interested in this, but i figure there's no harm in posting it. I'm working on some original songs. Laptop-based, electronic songs, with many orchestral parts, including violin, viola, cello, and string bass. Presonus studio one has some very nice vst string instruments, and i have some really great ones for kontakt. But they all are missing one thing, and i couldn't find the (admittedly esoteric) sound that i'm looking for anywhere on the internet. Being a viola player myself, i recorded myself playing these very particular incidental sounds. Let me explain-. There's this 'grabby' sound that a well-rosined bow makes just is it is first being drawn across the string. Listen carefully to any of the pros and you'll hear it. In your laptop sequences, if used subtly, right at the point where the first note of a phrase is initiated, this sound can give the string part a marked sense of realism*. This, combined with vibrato, reverb and a nice warm/tube/tape saturation setting, nobody will be able to tell the difference between your vst and the real thing. About the audio-i tried to keep them as pitchless as possible, thus not limiting their utility. I recorded two sets of all four open strings (c, g, d, a), first close mic'ed, and once from a few feet away, in stereo. Or to say it another way, the sounds are as follows-1. Open c close2. Open g close3. Open d close4. Open a close5. Open c far6. Open g far7. Open d far8. Open a far. It's totally overkill for me to record all the different versions, but i suppose somebody out there might find one more appropriate than another for their purposes. They work pretty effortlessly for violin and viola, but you might have to pitch them down for cello and string bass. I added no processing whatsoever, apart from normalizing each individual sound. Aiff, recorded at 44/16. Nady scm-2090 stereo condenser mic, focusrite saffire pro 24 interface, recorded in logic. Chinese restaurant (portugal) about 10 x 10 mts large with 20 people inside. Sunday 9pm. Chatter (portuguese + other), chairs dragging, some noise from the street behind the big glass window in front; noise from the kitchen (cutting vegetables on wood, frying on wok, chatter in chinese). Mic pointing at the center of the room. In front a big avenue (door closed). On my right/behind is the kitchen on an open space. Recorded with zoom h4n-pro 48 khz / 24 bit. All surface to air fireworks are illegal but, due to covid-19 cabin fever, people just didn't care this year. This recording is almost 99% voice free. There was a couple on a balcony that are barely heard muttering something in just a minute or two of this recording. For the most part, it's clean. I kept the peaks very low to maintain a natural sound. All of my sounds recordings are provided free of all charges. Plastic 2-liter sprite bottle bonking my head in various places. Bottle cap is screwed on tightly and label is intact. Recorded indoors with my sound blaster recon3di internal microphone array via audacity 2. 0. 6. I did not record this ambience sound! wtfi've left my zoom h1 recorder at a friends place for quite some while until i picked it up today. Accompanied by a few tracks that make sense to us i also found this record, which none of us (not me nor my friend) recognizes as their record. There were two files (which i recognize as takes), so it must be a part of a fictional flick. I've pulled them together here. Here's what i belief it is:ambience of a crime scene with cars approaching, motors running, people alighting and then talking. Seems like the police or other authorities just discovered a corpse.

This is a precise emulation of the audible time signal broadcast by radio station wwv of the nist in the usa on shortwave. This recording was produced via a program i wrote that emulates the time signal and recreates it from scratch, but it conforms precisely to the specs of the real signal. The only part missing is the voice announcement of the time, which, in the real broadcast, is made during the last fifteen seconds of each minute (which is why the tone changes to just clicks during that time). There are two minutes in the recording, but it should be easy to loop it or otherwise modify it for other durations. Since this audio file was computer-generated from scratch, it contains no noise, but the real broadcast has some static and noise, especially at large distances from the transmitter in colorado. Generated by special software / 48. 1 khz 16-bit stereo.

Modular synth patch where two envelopes are involved in a chase. There could have been a rhythm, but i let chaos disturb theharmony. The triangle wave sounds are "distorted" in a wave rectifier. Kind of metallic sound? interesting. The kind of patch only an owner to a modular synth findany interest in. Maybe a little more interesting then theprevious sound. . . This has an ambient feel. Why?answer: different wave forms, changed envelopes and reverb. A lot of reverb. Do you find any use for some part of this sound let me know!the "ground/root pith" is 122hz. . . Almost a b. . . But not really. I tune my oscillators without caring about "real" tones. The quantizer makes the steps between tones.

A group of 5 people - 4 guards and 1 nun (woman), walking fast from the distance until near the mic, stop, and then one man moves forward. Walking with boots on stone floor, sound of metal, swords, armours mixed with the steps. Two men and the nun carried a wireless mic. Recorded with sound devices at 48k 24bit in 6 channels. A close up recording of an overheating usb slot-loading cd/dvd drive that repeatedly tries to spin up, but fails and makes some clicking noises. Note on low frequency sounds: i recorded this with a zoom h1n recorder at about 2cm distance from the drive slot. I held the recorder in my hand and rested my hand on the surface the cd drive was resting on, so there is somewhat of a mechanical connection between the drive's vibrations and the recorder. I believe this led to the low frequency parts of the recording. About halfway through the recording, i lifted the drive up with my other hand and held it at a 30degree angle to the surface and recorder. As you can hear in the recording, this made it spin up a little longer before failing and spinning back down.

Boring sound. . . Neuron patch (?). . . Inspired by nlc squid axon (i have saved some hp for that one!) i have patched up a simple 2 stage asr with 2 s/h. Most of the time it plays its atonal melody, but when the patch is stimulated (by a sloth lfo) feedback opens up. I can adjust the sensitivity in different ways (so i can simulate the intake of drugs. . . ). The sound from the oscs goes though vcfs with some resonance. The vcfs are controlled by the same sloth lfo. My neuron patch. . . No hands during recording. Recorded with my squier telecaster and squire mini-bass through the focusrite interface into reaper. A nod to kenny gioia for the reaper tips. Snippets from recordings of me playing the tanpura. Tuned to e flat, the notes from top to bottom are b flat, e flat, c, low e flat. In traditional indian tuning the root note in the scale is referred to as sa and is e flat in this scale the fifth note (b flat in this scale) is referred to as pa and the sixth note (c) is dha. I noticed that my first pack of tanpura samples has a bit of fuzzy white noise so in this pack i have equalized - i reduced all the very high frequencies which got rid of most of the white noise without affecting the low frequency sounds of the tanpura itself. Please note this is the tanpura part of an instrument called the swar sangam which combines the swarmandal (indian harp) and the tanpura, it is not a traditional tanpura and does sound slightly different.

Here is another night of that couple next door. They were active for around 25 minutes. Sounds like they had a really good night. The recorded audio of this was over two hours long and edit down to this length. Many of their conversations before they you know and after they finished were excluded out. At 2:32, sounds like the woman said "wanna go ahead,. . . "starting around at 3:45 was when they probably began to have their fun in bed, but there were still bits of soft chit chat between the couple. At 13:25 is when there are bits of moans coming from the woman. At 14:50 is when the rising action really begins. This is an example of a low-frequency sound often recorded through the hydrophone on the mars cabled observatory - an earthquake. Mars is located on smooth ridge (36. 7125n, 122. 1869w), west of monterey bay at approximately 900 m depth (http://www. Mbari. Org/at-sea/cabled-observatory/). This magnitude 3. 8 earthquake occurred on july 18, 2016 at 05:53:31 utc (usgs data). It was part of a small earthquake swarm along the san andreas fault, approximately 50 miles east of the hydrophone. All quakes in this swarm, with magnitudes as low as 1. 9, were detected by the hydrophone. We have recorded as many as 40 earthquakes within a single day. The original recording was normalized, and speed was increased 5x to make the low frequency sound more audible. Still, subwoofer or headphones are recommended.

Another recording of rain and thunder, but in some ways a better one. This one is a surprisingly big crack and rumble preceded and followed by a nice sounding rain. I made this by positioning a stereo-matched pair of akg c451b condenser mics in an exaggerated x-y configuration (a wider stereo field) and aiming them out of my open window. The mics went into a universal audio 2-610 preamp, an apogee duet 2, and then ableton at 48khz and 24 bits. I believe i had the mics set flat, and there was no post processing (though i was mightily tempted to upload the much-better-sounding eqed and compressed files) so that you can fine tune it to suit your needs. You'll notice that the loudest parts of the thunder boom clipped the input, but, due to the pleasant and forgiving nature of vacuum tubes, the clipping sounds more compressed than distorted. The "concrete cello" pack is a collection of scraping, scratchy and droning improvisations on the cello focussing on the creation of sounds to be used as base materials for future compositions. They were originally recorded in 2019 to be used in as sound design elements for the documentary "hotel regina" by director matthias berger for which i composed the music.
