The roar of a industrial rooftop ventilator coming to life (starts at 00:10). It is a large and scary whirring, mechanical, grinding sound. Used in episode 10, "decoherence" of the genius-podcast audio drama, and used to be the sound of the thames flood gate being deployed.

An eight minute long soundscape i made for an episode of an audio fiction podcast. Intended to give the impression of a strange and otherworldly empty void, and to mildly imply sci-fi machinery with a spiritualist undertone. However, could easily be used for other projects where you want to create a feeling of discomfort, or of being in a strange and empty place.

This is a cute little beat i made for a podcast project for school. This was created in garageband v10. 3. 4, with beat machine, clav, synth bass, and glockenspiel software instruments. Please credit marc ella roy and link to this post if you use this! thanks!.

This is a ufo sound created by a waveform generator and manipulated by an audio editor ( i believe i used audacity) to create an eerie sound of a ufo. I think i was trying to achieve the sound of a ufo hovering over a house. Then flying away. However, if you decide to use this in a movie, video or podcast send me a note, thx.

Using a finger and a small blackroll tube, i recorded a few plopps with a rode nt-usb mini and the rode podcast recording software. Noise gate and compression were turned on at the time of recordings. For me, it sounds a little bit like a cork popping from a bottle, but it has a richer sound, somewhat overdoing it. . . Good for sfx though.

A long recording of almost 19 minutes of ufo type sounds. This is the first sound i've made in several years, a different attempt with different software and hardware. Looking for some honest critiques. Software used samplitude and audacity. Hardware used the akm320 midi keyboard. However, if you decide to use this in a movie, video or podcast send me a note, thx.

This is another end credits piece i wrote for a short lived gaming podcast a decade ago. It's best usage is for something creepy or dark as it's. . Well, both actually. You are free to use this in any project, please enjoy and share your own sounds on freesound. Org or at least buy a tee shirt (im wearing mine now!, well not really but i have a pic of me wearing it at the theater i work at!). C.

My swiss army knife of sounds: i recorded myself falling over a plastic stool for an episode of our comedy podcast, mission: rejected. It was supposed to be a one-time sound, where a clumsy analyst named stuart gilligan trips while getting out of his chair. I've used this sound two dozen times since, for fights, trips, tearing pictures off walls, throwing people out of windows, and plenty of others. I can't explain why this sound amuses me so much, but i hope others can find use and amusement in it as well.

Foley footsteps on gravel/small pebbles for a beach. Walking, running, and sitting gently and hard - originally being used for an audio drama podcast. This is a completely raw recording, so have kept in 'silence' for you to clean how you prefer, depending if you're doing anything to the pitch. Recorded on a se electronics x1 large condenser mic. Feel free to use in anything. I've benefitted hugely from people's files here, so if this is helpful for anyone, that's brilliant.

It's nearly impossible to find sound effects of someone handling an instrument and not playing it. . . At least it was until i uploaded this!. This was an acoustic guitar, but can be pitched up or down for similar smaller or bigger instruments. There's rubbing, knocking, and gliding fingers over the strings. No need to credit me. Just use the sound and focus on being creative!. If you really appreciate it, i would appreciate if you checked out my podcast, sonic realms.

Starts with two quick finger snaps before passing an iced coffee. Coffee back back and forth, on and off wooden desk shaking the plastic cup with ice, several repetitions. Recorded with a rode nt-usb mini (and a split cup jasmine milktea and house iced coffee from zero degrees in tempe, arizona. It was good as hell. ) recorded for the fiction podcast valence. Credit to hug house productions at https://hughouse. Productions greatly appreciated, but not mandatory. Enjoy! i love you!.

My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there. Incidentally i often use this type of thing in my long-form instrumental music, produced under the name conelrad. I have a podcast of album-length instrumental music which comes out every other week, called conelcast. Check it out wherever you get podcasts or at conelrad. Co. Uk if that kinda thing interests you.

This sound field recording was made back in 2000 on a very late/early morning. I placed the sony microphone ontop of the car outside to record the crickets and cicadas. There were a lot of mosquitos out that hot night. One of them landed on the mic and actually bit the microphone. You have to listen close but the bug bites at about 14:28 and removes the mosquito blood sucker at about 34:28. If you want to hear it clearly i made an episode about the "hungry bug" on my show the "sound effects podcast" http://soundeffectspodcast. Com/time-travel-tuesday-sounds-from-the-past-and-a-very-hungry-bug/.

I couldn't find any good giant wings flapping here, so i made my own and am now sharing them so nobody else has to! screw paying for sounds! made from a combination of pizza box lids, sheets, and a bit of sound design. You don't even have to credit me because i mean. . . Who even does that? and why? who's gonna track down a foley artist from the credits of a show for a random sound? just check out the sonic realms podcast if you like audiodramas and role playing games; there's nothing else like it. That's something i would appreciate. But only if you feel like it. Enjoy and use the hell outta the totally free sound!.

No good, isolated tree branch impact sounds on freesound. . . So i thanos'd it and did it myself! no need to credit me, this is free to use, because what am i gonna do, get famous off of my attribution? no, we came here to share freely, so let's share freely! when we all rise, we all rise. If you really appreciate the work that went into this (cutting tree branches, getting them into my basement, setting up the mic, recording, post-production processing, cleaning up, uploading. . ) then please check out/review/follow/subscribe/drop a like on my podcast, sonic realms (it would help a lot)!. If you like ttrpg roleplaying combined with cutting-edge sound design, you'll like sonic realms. There's nothing else like it!. Thanks! i hope this is useful to you.

For a podcast project i needed some coffee related sounds so i recorded our techni-vorm moccamaster, filter coffee machine as it brewed a full pot. Our version has a metallic thermos jug rather than the standard glass jug. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. If any of these sounds have been of help, and you are feeling charitable, please do consider donating to freesound to help keep the site running (a link is also on the home page). Any donations are greatly appreciated!.

The first sunday of may is the international dawn chorus day! on the 3rd of may 2020, artists and field recordists in different parts of the world recorded the birdsong around the time of the local sunrise, and then the sounds were put together in a synchronous collage. The sounds you hear in the recording at the same time happened at the same time, but not necessarily in the same place: for example, you can hear owls calling in the spanish night at almost the same time as kookaburras in the australian day. Many thanks to all contributors!. Part 1: 2nd may 2020, 19:55 - 23:30 gmt. Karthic ss, dunedin, new zealand (also part of the reveil7 podcast) https://soundcloud. It's a 15-minute long drum improvisation. It contails a lot of different beats and rhythms played so you might cut-out some loops for your needs. The kit has:- single kick- snare- hihat- 3 toms- broken crash that sounds really short- ride. The kit was old and not in perfect condition. I also used my sticks to play on some other part of the drumkit, like metal stand for the crash etc. I also got up and stated running around in a circle hitting sticks together and afterwards hitting drums and cymbals while running around the drumkit. I took my shoes off before i started so you can't hear my footsteps. I didn't use a metronome and i know i don't hold the tempo and it's a bit wiggly sometimes. I think this performace was inspired by band mr. Bungle. I recorded this with zoom h2 handy recorder's front stereo xy mics. It was standing on a table about one meter above the floor. Facing the drumkit and me. It was captured into a 48khz/24-bit wav file, then i trimmed the ends and converted this to flac using audacity. No processing applied, though i think it sounds nicer when you put these effects:. 1. A compressor:-attack: 10ms-release: 50ms-ratio: 2. 5:1-treshold: around -24db2. A reverb:-decay: 1. 5 to 2 seconds-dry: 0db-wet: around -15 db. It amazes me how much energy compression actually adds to drums!. I made this with my podcast (http://unfamusic. Com/fnr/) in mind. I want to overdub guitars, vocals and make it one big schizophrenic song. If you're interested to hear it, leave me a comment so i can find you, or just subscribe to my podcast's rss (http://feeds. Feedburner. Com/unfa-fnr/).
