This is a reel for the make noise morphagene. It was created using the chord preset from mutable instruments plaits. The chords gravitate around c. I twiddled the knobs while recording and the results were fed through valhalla shimmer before i cut a few sections up and rearranged the audio to make a reel. Have fun!.

A reel-to-reel tapecorder with the record switch on. Time has not been kind to the device, and now a loud sine wave pulses through the speakers when recording with it.

Ambient reel for the makenoise morphagene. These sounds are recorded from a nord modular g2. The reel is dual mono, each channel has a different sound.

Playing with the switches on my nagra reel-to-reel - sort of a ryoji ikeda kind of thing popped out - i love surface noise, tape compression. . The whole media in fact!.

Included on this reel are 40 splices of static, captured while scanning the vl, vf and uhf bands on an analog television set. Since the u. S. Conversion to digital broadcast signals in 2009, these bands have been providing endless streams of noise for all to enjoy.

A morphagene reel culled from an improvisation i made on a eurorack modular synth. Qu-bit electronix scanned is the sole voice here. Splices in the reel are ordered from somewhat delicate (taps, pulses, etc. ) to pretty chaotic noise. All recorded into a zoom h6.

This is an excerpt from slow decay, a project commissioned by istimrar 2021 - an irtijal festival initiativedrumming by nadia daou playing various percussions on a steel metal plate.

Here's my second flute reel for the make noise morhpagene. This is how far i've came over the past few months in my playing and despite a few slip ups here and there i'm quite pleased with how i'm able to make it sound now. A high-pitched, metal windchime, sent through some granular processing software. The reel is divided into two, long halves: one with the sound playing forwards and one with it playing in reverse. This means i can easily switch from forward to reverse without tuning issues, simply by applying cv to the morphagene's 'slide' control.

1k generated sine wave, 120ms long. Typical nagra beep that you find between takes on a blooper reel. They used to place a couple of these between takes recorded to analog tape in order to differentiate between multiple takes when fast forwarding.

Very loud, close recording of an old, partially functional wallensack reel-to-reel tape recorder. Recording includes the tape motor in operation and a piezo mic being dragged across the surface of the tape recorder. The recording has a fair amount of both background noise, and hum from the machine itself.

I don't have a modular system to speak of but after watching some of divkids videos i realised my xiao could sound really nice in an ambient eurorack setup. Anyway, here's a few improv sections on my flute, only been playing 4 weeks so pardon the few bum notes. Make of it what you will but would love to hear what people come up with. Concertina loops on the way after it's been serviced.
